Ajay Kumar (Ajith) who is happily married with wife Hasini (Kajal Agarwal) leads a core team of counter terrorism squad. In a mission, Ajay Kumar gets betrayed by his own team which has Aryan (Vivek Oberoi) and other three members. How AK saved the mission by taking revenge on his team members protecting his wife forms 'Vivekam'.

Ajith Kumar as a deadly spy steals the show. He looks super fit for the role with chiseled body. His hard work and dedication is clearly visible in every scene of the film. He carried the entire film with his one man show. Fans will rejoice his act in many action scenes.

Kajal Agarwal did a matured role of a house wife who loves and admires her husband. It is good to see that she has been involved in some crucial action scenes in second half. She did well in bringing emotional depth to the film. Vivek Oberoi as baddie looks cool and deadly at the same time. Akshara Haasan impresses in a crucial cameo role.

Ajith Action Sequences Cinematography High Production Values Pre-Interval Chase Sequence

Regular Revenge Plot Screenplay In Second Half

Director Siva who is known for delivering Super Hits with mass elements is back again with Ajith for 'Vivekam'. This time he picked up an out and out action film on a grand scale. Though the outline is good enough for a high octane action thriller. 'Vivekam' clearly lacks much needed drama and engaging screenplay to make it an edge-of-the-seat kind of thriller. Film is rich in technical values and well choreographed action sequences on par with Hollywood standards. But, still most of the times the action looks over the top and silly.

Technically film looks lavish with top class production values. Entire film was shot in picturesque foreign locations. Cinematography stands out and is one of the major highlights in the film. Music and BGM by Anirudh could have been better. Dubbing is neat. Production values by Sathya Jyothi Films is laudable.

Bottom-Line : Messy Action Thriller

Rating : 2.25 / 5
