Vijay Antony starrer Bichagadu was one of the biggest blockbusters in terms of ROI in Tollywood. The film which was released as a small movie slowly gained momentum and became a huge blockbuster. Mother’s sentiment and novel point of millionaire masquerading as a beggar struck a chord with the audience. Now, Vijay Antony came up with the second part for Bichagadu. The latest Bichagadu 2 is not a sequel and is nowhere related to the original storywise. Vijay Antony himself acted, wrote, directed, edited, and composed the music r the film.

Vijay Gurumurthy (Vijay Antony) is one of the richest people in India, chairman of VG Group in Vishakapatnam, who starts behaving weirdly after his return from Dubai. Why Vijay behaves in an abnormal manner and how he is connected to a beggar Satya (Vijay Antony) from Rajamundry, what is his relation with Hema (Kavya Thapar), What is the Anti Bikili project, What led Satya to kill others, form the crux of the story.

Vijay Antony gives a decent performance in both roles. He looked ultra stylish in the role of the rich business tycoon. He showed the variation in the second as a beggar. He excelled during the climax scene.

Kavya Thapar gave an ultra glamourous treat in the introduction song but got limited role. She showed good emotions in a couple of scenes. Dev Gill, Hareesh Peradi, and John Vijay are adequate in their roles.

Cinematic Liberties

The story written by Vijay Antony deals with how a beggar when affected by circumstances goes all out and fights against adversaries to reach his mission is impressive. As a Director Vijay Antony executes it well, especially in the first hour. Dialogues are emotional, realistic, and thought-provoking. The brain transplantation aspect raised curiosity.

Vijay Antony with his screenplay and direction succeeded in generating interest with rightly dealt sister sentiment. The film gets predictable at times in the flashback portions. A better screenplay for the second half could have made the film even more engaging.

Vijay Antony handled the music and editing departments apart from the direction effectively. His background music elevated the scenes giving the right feel to the viewers.  His BGM played a major role in enhancing the output quality. Om Narayan’s Cinematography is good. His camera angles have the right output. The production values are neat, and the dubbing is good, giving the feel of a straight Telugu film.

Rating: 3 / 5

Bottom line: Engaging& Emotional
