Gaami which is in production for 8 years has completed its journey. The film is headlined by Vishwak Sen in a unique role of Aghora. Chandini Chowdary and Abhinaya are playing prominent roles. Story:
‘Gaami’ comprises of three stories those run parallelly. Shankar (Vishwak Sen) struggles with human touch sensitivity. His journey to overcome this disorder leads him on an adventurous quest to the Himalayas in search of a rare flower that blooms once every 36 years, believed to cure his situation. A young patient/prisoner (Mohammed Samad) is tortured in the name of experiments and he sets on his journey of breaking out of prison. A girl child, Uma (Harika Pedda) living away from her mother (Abhinaya) yearns for her missing motherly love. Though the three tracks are different from each other and have no connection, Shankar keeps getting visions of the other two at times. What is the reason behind his visions, how did they overcome hurdles in their journeys form the rest of the story.
Performances:
Though Vishwak Sen has limited screen time compared to his films where he plays lead role, as the story needs the other two tracks to get explored simultaneously. Vishwak displayed the determination and conviction in playing his role who suffers with a rare condition and his efforts are evident in doing full justice to his character. Chandini Chowdary, as a doctor helping in Shankar’s journey to reach his destination played a key role and she did a decent job.
Abhinaya excelled in the mother’s role and as a Devadasi. Mohammed Samad as a tortured patient provided a sincere performance. Child actor Harika Pedda, in her role as Uma, portrayed emotions naturally.

Analysis:
Gaami, a Telugu supernatural thriller directed by Vidyadhar Kagita, comes up with an unique plot with extravagant visuals. The film presents viewers with a distinctive cinematic experience. The first half, manages to keep audiences engaged despite its slow pace with stunning technical aspects. Though the interval seems abrupt, the conflict blended with emotions of core character Shankar keeps audience invested into the film.
While Gaami faces pacing issues at times, and suffers with some underdeveloped subplots, The aesthetic values especially film’s visuals, and music provides the audience with an enthralling experience. Director Vidyadhar Kagita made a unique and captivating story with a compelling screenplay. Vishwanath Reddy’s enchanting cinematography and Naresh Kumaran’s enhancing background score provided an intriguing narrative. Production values are lavish and which helped the film looks stunning.
