His latest Hunt which is an action thriller is released today (January 26th). He played the role of a cop in the film. Trailer and Posters raised curiosity about the film. Let’s check-out the review.

ACP Arjun Prasad (Sudheer Babu) who is investigating his friend, colleague ACP Arya  Dev’s (Bharat) murder. Meanwhile he meets with a major accident and loses his memory. After the accident, another friend of Arjun Prasad, and Commissioner of Police Mohan Bhargav (Srikanth) asks Arjun to work on the case without revealing his memory loss to anyone in the department. Who killed Aryan Dev? How Arjun solve the case? Did Arjun regain his memory? Forms the rest of the story

Sudheer Babu who is known for his acting abilities has yet again scored high with his impactful performance in the movie. He is equally good in intense action sequences and emotional scenes. Sudheer Babu has delivered a memorable performance. He is suited perfectly in a cop role and his fitness levels are evident during action scenes.

Bharath and Srikanth are perfectly cast in their roles. Their characters travel along with the story and has an importance in the story too. Their combination scenes with Sudheer Babu worked well.

Gets Slow At Times In Second Half

Hunt is an investigative thriller with a memory loss element. Director Mahesh has handled the story very well. The entire first half is engaging with gripping narration. Action scenes are well executed and blended smoothly with the main story. Going with almost no songs work in favour of the film as it allows free flow of the thrilling experience without any deviation.

The second half is where the film struggles a bit. The momentum which was maintained in first half loses its steam in second half for a brief period. But, the film gets back on track drawing the audience towards the film with twists and turns. The final twist is a brave step, especially in Tollywood that too for a popular hero like Sudheer Babu. Have to appreciate the guts of team to go on with this climax. But, it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

Ghibran’s BGM maintained tense mood and is in sync with the mood of the film. Vincent’s cinematography deserves a mention. He captured frames aesthetically with good lighting. Editing especially in second half could have been better. Production values by Anand Prasad are lavish and provided everything needed to make it a stylish slick thriller.

Rating: 3 / 5
Bottom-line: Slick  & Stylish Action Thriller With A Shocking Twist !!
