Tej (Sai Dharam Tej) falls in love with Nandini (Anupama Parameswaran) at first sight. Soon they are deeply involved with each other under unique circumstances. In the end, strong love develops between each other. Just when things were on track, an accident happens to Nandini and she forgets everything. How did Tej win her love again under a different circumstance involving his family is the basic story.

Performances:

Sai Dharam Tej shows a different body language all together that is unique to Karunakaran heroes. It allows him to try out a newer set of expressions as the lover boy, mostly cute one’s and Sai Dharam Tej nails them perfectly. His styling too is very fresh. The dances and fights are excellent, as usual.

Anupama Parameswaran is beautiful in a role that offers her enough scope to be part of the story. She gets the cute, bubbly girl part correct and plays it perfectly with just the right emotions.

Jayaprakash and Pavitra Lokesh expertly play their parts in generating the right dose of emotions. Prudhvi, Surekha Vani and others, who are part of the family set up gel well together. Viva Harsha and the gang get the chemistry alright and help in giving lots of funny moments.

Analysis:

Director A Karunakaran is known for love stories with a fresh and large dosage of healthy comedy. One can watch it with the entire family as there is no vulgarity at all. Tej I Love You is also on similar lines.

The beginning of the movie until the meeting of the lead pair helps in perfect set up of various conflicts. Karunakaran then takes us through the different emotions to offer with humour and twist that is typically his style. The first half breezes past with the right mix of comedy, drama and romance with beautiful songs. The interval twist is good.

The second half of Tej I Love You starts promisingly. However, it loses the grip subsequently and gets wobbly. Some parts are beautiful, and there are that is cringe-worthy. Still, the flow doesn’t stagnate at any point. The proceedings are always rapid. The climax is the best part of the second half. It reminds one the director’s classic movie, but the emotions are neatly built at that moment. Overall, breezy first half and decent second half make Tej I Love You a genuine one-time watch at the cinemas this weekend.

Gopi Sundar has given addictive tunes to the movie. They help the film a lot. The background score is also excellent. I Andrews’s cinematography provides the film with a visual richness. The editing is crisp. There are many funny one-liners are emotional dialogues throughout. Producer KS Rama Rao has many iconic movies to his name. In the current generation, the banner is coming with selective projects, but they are making sure that it stands out from the crowd. Tej I Love You is no different. It is a clean family and love entertainer that is made for all audience.

Bottom-line: Fun Filled Love Story

Rating: 3/5
