Film starts with all Mobile phones start to vanish into the sky mysteriously. Businessmen and politician were killed in a mysterious way. Scientist Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth) with the help of Chitti (Rajinikanth) finds that Pakshiraja (Akshay Kumar) is behind this strange invasion. Why Pakshiraja attack mobile phones ? How Chitti stopped him with the help of Vennela (Amy Jackson) forms the rest of the story.<\/p>\n

Performances:<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Superstar Rajinikanth dominates the proceedings with his acting in three variations. As a scientist and good and evil robot, he is sensational. However, the highlight is everyone\u2019s favourite evil Chitti character which sets the screens on fire as promised. There is no way one can, unlike that role. It is so wonderfully and wickedly over the top.<\/p>\n

Akshay Kumar plays a character in line with some of his recent roles underlying a social cause. Only here, he is an anti-hero. His presence is mostly special effect created, but the small part he appears playing an Oncologist brings forth the superb actor in him. The makeup work done for him throughout the movie is exceptional.<\/p>\n

Amy Jackson plays a humanoid and acts like one. She helps in providing comic relief to the movie without interrupting the flow. The only song she is part of comes at the titles.<\/p>\n

Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in brief supporting roles are neat. The rest of the characters have less screen time, but they have all done their job well.<\/p>\n

Director Shankar is known for grand movies with a great social message. In 2.0 he has picked up another such important and relevant issue and weaved a commercial extravaganza around it that is going to leave everyone awestruck.<\/p>\n

The side effects of cell phone radiations and signal emission from towers are the topic picked up in 2.0. Shankar sticks to the point from the first moment and without boring narrates the issues cropping up with it and how it is affecting the environment.<\/p>\n

The first half is spent on the grand revelation of the anti-hero and an equally strong force to stop it in the form of Chitti. The interval block is neatly designed, and the concept of the fifth element is well explained in layman terms so that a common audience also could get it.<\/p>\n

The second half gets into the core of the problem and lets the audience know the perspective of the villain. The acting and execution will surely leave people mesmerised. And then after all the drama happens the entrance of evil Chitti to end the movie on an explosive note. The climax is not only about the visual effects, but also the Rajini mass, both are handled to peaks enjoyment of the fans by director Shankar. Overall, 2.0 is a must watch theatrical experience.<\/p>\n

Technically, the movie has the best crew coming together. AR Rahman\u2019s background score is fantabulous and of international standards. The cinematography by Nirav Shah is fantastic. Anthony’s editing is razor sharp. Resul Pookutty\u2019s sound mixing is top notch.<\/p>\n

The VFX and makeup team deserves special mention as they have done an out of the world work for 2.0. They are bound to leave everyone stunned. Producer Subhashkaran of\u00a0 Lyca Productions deserves all the praise he can get for mounting a film on this scale without compromise. ‘Lyca Productions’ have raised the bar high for big budget films in the Indian film industry. NV Prasad needs to be appreciated for bringing 2.0 to Telugu audience.<\/p>\n
