73 year old Savitri Aka Baby (Lakshmi) who lives with her son and family runs a canteen accompanied by her longtime friend Chanti (Rajendraprasad). Due to the nagging and overprotective nature of Baby, her daughter-in-law suffers and falls ill due to stress. Knowing this Baby moves away from home and miraculously finds herself again as a 23-year-old young girl (Samantha Akkineni<\/a>). Rest of the story is about how she followed her family and rediscovered her lost youth.<\/p>\n

Performances:<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Samantha gave her career best as Baby. We have seen her performing in many emotional films, but this time she surprised everyone with her comic act in Oh Baby. Samantha aced the comedy timing and is a delight to watch with her magnificent screen presence. The way she enacted the body language and expressions of an older woman is too good. Samantha is the soul of ‘Oh Baby’.<\/p>\n

Lakshmi, who is barely seen in a role with 30-40 minutes of duration, leaves a lasting impression with her splendid performance. She brought in her experience and made the emotional scenes work bigtime. Rajendraprasad is perfect as Chanti who adores Baby. His combination of scenes with Samantha are fun to watch. His experience comes into the display, especially during a seat scene.<\/p>\n

Among others, Rao Ramesh, Pragathi, Teja Sajja, Aishwarya, Oorvasi, are adequate and added much value to the proceedings. Perfect casting stands as one of the highlights of the film. There are several cameo appearances by popular heroes which will surely surprise you.<\/p>\n

Director, Nandini Reddy is known for showcasing emotions sensibly and blending it with delicious humor. She finds the perfect script in ‘Oh Baby<\/a>‘ which suits her abilities. She played her strengths well, which resulted in ‘Oh Baby’, an emotional and entertaining rollercoaster ride. She along with Samantha breaks the stereotyped female-oriented template by choosing this script and came out with flying colors.<\/p>\n

The first half of the movie is full of entertainment. With a fresh premise, the entertaining stuff to looks very cool and breezy. The overall experience is also different, yet very entertaining. Nandini Reddy has wonderfully utilized Samantha’s strengths. The comic timing is spontaneous and fabulous.<\/p>\n

It is a different turn in the second half though as the narrative takes a dramatic turn. But, once again, the supporting cast does a beautiful job in keeping the proceedings alive even though the entertainment quotient drops a bit. The emotional high in the climax makes everyone teary eyed. It shows how well the movie has worked with the audience. Finally, the surprise at the end will leave everyone with a bright smile when they come out of the cinemas.<\/p>\n

‘Oh Baby’ is rich in technicalities. Cinematography by Richard Prasad is terrific with colourful visuals throughout the film. Background music by Micky J Meyer is impressive, which elevates the feel, especially during the emotional scenes. However, the music of the film could have been better.<\/p>\n

Production Values are top-notch, making the film looks vibrant and glossy. Producers Suresh Babu, Sunitha Tati, TG Vishwa Prasad, Vivek Kuchibotla deserves all the appreciation for backing such a unique and sensible subject.<\/p>\n

Bottom-line:<\/span> Fun-filled Emotional Rollercoaster Ride<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
