Man Of Masses NTR has made a triumphant return to the silver screen with Director Koratala Shiva’s highly anticipated film, Devara, released on September 27th, 2024. Following his phenomenal success in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, NTR teams up with Janhvi Kapoor, who marks her Tollywood debut in this action-packed entertainer. Music by Anirudh has generated huge buzz around the film. Let’s take a look into the review.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Plot:<\/span><\/h4>\n

The story follows Shivam, a seasoned Mumbai cop played by Ajay, who embarks on a mission to capture feared dons Yeti and Daya in Ratnagiri, a region bordered by the ominous Red Sea, a group of four seaside mountain villages. As Shivam investigates, he uncovers shocking events involving Devara (Jr NTR) and Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), revealed by influential Singappa (Prakash Raj).<\/span><\/p>\n

The narrative takes a turn as the interconnected lives of Devara’s son Vara (Jr NTR), Thangam (Janhvi Kapoor), Rayappa (Srikanth), Kora (Shine Tom Chacko), Kunja (Kalaiarasan), Muruga (Murali Sharma), and DSP Tulasi (Abhimanyu Singh) come to the forefront. Devara who once led his groups stealing from ships on the sea decides to stop smuggling and faces the wrath of his own men. What happens to Devara, How come his son Vara turned into a timid guy without continuing his father’s legacy as a leader. How the story concludes and leads to the second part for the entire crux of Devara.<\/span><\/p>\n

Devara showcases NTR’s exceptional acting prowess and charisma. Devara is poised to cement his status as one of India’s leading actors. NTR delivers a captivating performance in Devara, effortlessly portraying two distinct roles with his signature charisma, impressive mannerisms, and commanding screen presence. NTR undoubtedly elevates every scene.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saif Ali Khan shares screen space with NTR in the first half, leaving a strong impression, but his role unfortunately diminishes in the second half. Janhvi Kapoor, making her Telugu debut, dazzles with her glamour and impressive dance moves alongside NTR.<\/span><\/p>\n

The supporting cast, including Shruthi Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiarasan, Murli Sharma, Ajay, and Abhimanyu Singh, deliver solid performances, complementing the film’s narrative. Koratala Shiva’s “Devara” aims to catapult Jr NTR’s heroic image to new heights, opening with a captivating narrative set against a stunning seascape. The film’s momentum continues as Shiva introduces a plethora of characters with his intriguing writing, thrilling action sequences and intense dialogues between Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan keep viewers engaged. The spectacular interval block leaves audiences eager for the second half. With the introduction of NTR’s second role and Janhvi Kapoor’s character, the subsequent romantic track adds more intrigue to the narrative. However due to the limited setting, it feels like the scenes seem repetitive at times in the second half. But, the climax reveal followed by a high octane sea battle with a cliffhanger leaves the audience craving for more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Impressive cinematography by Rathnavelu enhances the atmosphere and builds the world of Devara. Particularly music by Anirudh Ravichander is top-notch and elevated scenes to a whole new level. The narrative could have focused more on emotional depth. But Devara relies heavily on Jr NTR’s heroic persona. Sreekar Prasad’s editing is refined. While production values are lavish, and deliver a high quality output.<\/span><\/p>\n
