Chitrapuri Colony President Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar Clarifies on Allegations, Outlines Future Development Plans<\/span><\/em>

\nHyderabad, July 25 \u2013 Chitrapuri Colony President Mr. Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar<\/span> held a press conference to address longstanding allegations and clarify the situation surrounding the colony\u2019s administration and developmental activities. For several years, the colony has been subject to various accusations and media reports, prompting the leadership to provide a comprehensive clarification in front of the press.<\/span><\/p>\n

The session also highlighted the upcoming projects in the colony, including Sapphire Suites, row houses, duplex units, and proposed high-rise towers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking to the Media<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Anil Kumar began by stating:<\/span>
\n\u201cEvery six months, we hold a meeting where all members come together like a family to discuss problems and solutions. But recently, instead of participating in these forums, some individuals\u2014many of whom are not even members of Chitrapuri Colony\u2014have been making public statements and staging protests at places like the Film Chamber and Gandhi Bhavan. They are falsely claiming large-scale irregularities and corruption running into thousands of crores, creating unnecessary fear among residents.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He added that while Chitrapuri Colony has evolved over decades, a few are attempting to tarnish its reputation without presenting concrete evidence. \u201cThose claiming to have proof of corruption were invited to this open press meet to present it publicly, but none turned up. This session is not personal; it\u2019s about transparency and community trust.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Chitrapuri Colony currently houses 4,713 families, and its value is estimated between \u20b9700 to \u20b9850 crore. Some have alleged scams of over \u20b93,000 crore\u2014claims Mr. Anil Kumar refuted, stating that the land was not given free of cost, and that all developments have followed due process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Project and Construction Updates<\/span>
\n\u2022 The meeting, held at the Film Chamber, underlines the importance of addressing issues within the film community framework.<\/span>
\n\u2022 To join the colony, membership is strictly limited to film industry workers. Currently, around 60% of residents fall into that category, while others have sold their units and exited.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Construction of row houses began in 2009, and additional G+2 units were built in 2017 with proper permissions. Some of these projects were halted due to court cases but were legally sanctioned.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Pricing for housing units has been finalized through internal meetings, keeping in mind the colony\u2019s outstanding debts.<\/span>
\n\u2022 The Sapphire Suites project, a 51-floor tower, is set to begin in the auspicious Shravanam month, with all necessary permissions in place. It will be equipped with modern amenities comparable to premium gated communities.<\/span>
\n\u2022 This new project is crucial for the colony\u2019s financial health. If completed within 48 months, it will help clear nearly \u20b9170 crore in debts, without passing the burden onto residents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Infrastructure and Membership Clarifications<\/span>
\n\u2022 There is no water shortage in Chitrapuri Colony, with uninterrupted supply of Manjeera water.<\/span>
\n\u2022 The committee remains committed to ensuring justice for genuine film workers. Those with valid membership will receive full support to obtain flats, and units are readily available for eligible applicants.<\/span>
\n\u2022 The upcoming General Body Meeting in September will allow those who have raised complaints to present their clarifications, which will be reviewed for possible action.<\/span>
\n\u2022 No registrations have been carried out post-2023. If any of the 336 new names include non-film workers, the current committee will ensure their removal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Support for the Film Community<\/span>
\n\u2022 Flats have already been allotted to film journalists, and the colony is open to accommodating distributors, exhibitors, and individuals from 24 crafts, provided they come through their respective associations.<\/span>
\n\u2022 During financial crises in the past, notable figures like Mr. Chadalavada Srinivas stepped forward to prevent auctioning of properties and offered strong support to the community.<\/span>
\n\u2022 The colony is willing to follow government-appointed committee recommendations regarding allotment to genuine film workers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rules for Membership Termination<\/span>
\n\u2022 Membership can only be revoked on two grounds:<\/span>
\n1. Failure to pay dues on time.<\/span>
\n2. Proven non-affiliation with the film industry.<\/span>
\nNo member can be removed for any other reason.<\/span><\/p>\n
