Actor Praveen, who has made a mark for himself as a comedian and character actor through his diverse roles and unique films, is now stepping into the lead role for the first time in the film Bak\u0101sura Restaurant. This film, described as a “hunger comedy entertainer,” blends horror, thriller, comedy, and emotion, promising a refreshing experience for audiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

Directed by SJ Shiva, the movie features Viva Harsha in the title role and also stars Krishna Bhagavan, Shining Phani, and KGF\u2019s Garuda Ram in key roles. Produced by Lakshmaiah Achari and Janardhan Achari under the SJ Movies banner, the film is set for a worldwide release on August 8.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an excerpt from an interview with actor Praveen<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the story of Bak\u0101sura Restaurant about?<\/span><\/p>\n

The film revolves around five characters. I play the character Paramesh, who drives the story. My role is a mix of entertainment and deep emotion. The ambition of my character and how it gets fulfilled is shown in an interesting way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the story revolves around your character and you’re playing the lead, do you feel any pressure?<\/span><\/p>\n

To be honest, yes\u2014it does feel a bit heavy. From a performance perspective, this isn\u2019t a typical role. The story mixes horror, thriller, and mythology. Since my role leads the narrative of five characters, it naturally brings some pressure. However, our director executed it all with great clarity. Now, promoting the film and taking it to the audience is my responsibility. Thankfully, I have the support of everyone in the film industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will your character be entertaining?<\/span><\/p>\n

Definitely! Along with entertainment, there is a strong emotional aspect. Delivering that emotional depth was quite challenging for me. The story concludes on a painful emotional note.<\/span><\/p>\n

Is the foodie ghost troubling you in the film?<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a conceptual story. The way the foodie ghost causes trouble is portrayed in both an entertaining and emotional manner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Did you contribute any suggestions regarding the budget?<\/span><\/p>\n

Even though we exceeded the initial budget a little, the output is very satisfying. I’m confident the film will be liked by everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

When a comedian becomes a hero, there’s a belief that comedy roles might decline. What do you think?<\/span><\/p>\n

Not at all. That only happens if I start considering myself a “hero.” I’m just playing a lead role in a film\u2014nothing more. I\u2019m still busy with films like Vishwambhara, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Mass Jathara, Lenin, and Aakashamlo Oka Thaara. I’m open to any role a director offers.<\/span><\/p>\n

We hear Dil Raju is distributing this film?<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, Sirish garu watched the film and felt it had a great story. He liked it a lot, and that\u2019s why we are releasing it under the SVC banner.<\/span><\/p>\n

What makes this film special?<\/span><\/p>\n

The climax scenes are highly emotional. Just like in real life, when a close friend has to leave for unavoidable reasons, it leaves a deep pain within us. That kind of emotion is portrayed here, and I believe it will connect with every audience member.<\/span><\/p>\n

Does playing the lead feel like a pleasure or pressure?<\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve learned to turn pressure into pleasure while working. Every film has its own challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n

What kind of lead roles would you prefer in the future?<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll play all kinds of roles. But if I\u2019m doing a lead role, I\u2019d like it to be full of entertainment. Since I already have a comedic image, audiences expect more fun from me. So I\u2019ll continue choosing such films.<\/span><\/p>\n

What feeling will audiences have when they walk out of the theater after watching this film?<\/span><\/p>\n
