Sreemani made his debut as a lyricist with the film 100% Love, has carved a distinct identity for himself in the Telugu film industry. Over the years, he has contributed lyrics to several top-tier films and star-hero projects. Rising swiftly to become one of the most sought-after lyricists, Sreemani celebrates his birthday on September 15 (Monday). On this occasion, he shared insights about his career with the media. The following are the highlights of his conversation:<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked if there was anything special about this birthday, Sreemani said, \u201cThere is nothing particularly special. However, I always aspire to climb another step in my literary journey and achieve something new. I wish to begin new works on my birthday itself, with the feeling that this is the day my life begins anew.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Reflecting on his recent work, he stated, \u201cThis year, I had the opportunity to write songs for scenes that were rich in literary depth. Songs like Bujjithalli and Hailessa in Tandel, Nijama Kala in Lucky Bhaskar, and tracks from Aay earned me good recognition. All these songs convey deep emotions tied to the narrative. I feel proud to have had the opportunity to write such songs. I am grateful to the music directors, directors, and producers who believed in me and gave me these opportunities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding how he updates himself in alignment with literary changes, Sreemani remarked, \u201cEvery song presents its own challenge. Over the past five years, sound design in both music and lyrics has evolved. Sound aesthetics need to be captivating for the audience. That\u2019s why I strive to stay aligned with trends and not compromise on standards. I aim for my lyrics to feel fresh even ten years down the line. As part of that effort, I constantly reinvent myself.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Responding to a question about frequently writing love songs and how he keeps them innovative, he said, \u201cLove is universal. Each song and emotion carries its own novelty and expression. I ensure the song communicates the emotion clearly to everyone through subtle words, without losing meaning in sound.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked to name a favorite among his songs, he responded, \u201cI write every song with affection. Every song I write is my favorite. A writer should always feel satisfied and driven to write more, always yearning to create new literature.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about the current social media trend where songs are expected to become instant hits, Sreemani observed, \u201cThis is like walking a tightrope for all writers. Earlier, songs took time to reach audiences. Now, due to social media, people expect to like a song the moment they hear it. Accordingly, songs are becoming instant chartbusters. Still, we write with the thought that the song should evoke the same feeling even ten years later.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Commenting on the type of songs he writes most and whether he listens to the entire story before writing, Sreemani said, \u201cAfter the Aradugula Bullet song, I\u2019ve been getting more opportunities to write hero introduction songs. Occasionally, I also get to write love songs. For example, for the song Idhe Kada… from Maharshi, I listened to the entire story before writing it. Some songs, I write based solely on the situation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On being asked about the song he feels most proud of, he shared, \u201cI can\u2019t decide which of my songs makes me feel proud. The real satisfaction comes when someone I admire or respect praises a song I\u2019ve written. Director Sukumar, who introduced me as a lyricist, highly appreciated the song Vachindamma from Geetha Govindam and encouraged me, saying I was writing well. Similarly, when the legendary Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry appreciated my song in Maharshi, it was a moment I\u2019ll never forget. Such moments make me feel I have written something truly meaningful.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked whether he has ever considered directing films, Sreemani replied, \u201cI have no intention of moving towards direction. But I have a strong desire to evolve as a complete writer. I used to participate in story discussions with friends before, and now I want to put that into practice by writing dialogues. Writing is my life. It is my wish to enhance the value of literature.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sreemani is currently writing lyrics for several upcoming films, including Aakasaniki Oka Thaara starring Dulquer Salmaan, Sambaraala Yetigattu featuring Sai Durga Tej, and India House, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
