The conflict between the lead characters inspired the music for the movie “The Girlfriend”: Music director Hesham Abdul Wahab<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Starring national crush Rashmika Mandanna and talented actor Dheekshith Shetty, “The Girl Friend” is produced jointly under the banners of Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment, with renowned producer Allu Aravind presenting the film. Director Rahul Ravindran has crafted an intense and emotional love story, while Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vidya Koppineedi serve as producers. This fresh love story is set to release in Hindi and Telugu on November 7, and on November 14, it will have a worldwide theatrical release in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. In a recent interview, music director Hesham Abdul Wahab<\/span> shared his experiences working on the film.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This is the first Telugu movie I signed, \u2018The Girlfriend.\u2019 After this, I composed for \u2018Kushi\u2019 and \u2018Hi Nanna,\u2019 which are also love stories. Among these, the intensity in \u2018The Girlfriend\u2019 is much higher. I have been composing music for consecutive romantic films, and now offers for different genres are coming my way. I feel satisfied having contributed to these romantic projects.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“The release of this movie was delayed. I had started working on the BGM, but due to certain reasons, the film came out later. During that time, Prashanth Vihari handled the background music. I\u2019m happy that he worked on the film as the main music director. He delivered a great BGM, and the feel I envisioned is clearly reflected in his work.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“The film has four songs, and the fourth song \u2018Needhey\u2019 was recently released. I put in a lot of effort composing this song. Before starting, director Rahul told me that it should be an anthem for every girl, a \u2018Bhooma anthem.\u2019 I worked hard to achieve that. For the entire album, Rahul wanted a blend of Indian and Western music, so we incorporated traditional Indian ragas along with Western instruments.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“The conflict between Vikram and Bhooma\u2019s characters inspired me to create good songs for this film. It\u2019s a movie everyone should watch. Watching it myself made me reflect, and I\u2019m confident audiences will appreciate it. All credit goes to director Rahul, as he designed all the songs to fit perfectly within the story.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“There is no specific time for composing a good song. I don\u2019t set aside a particular time for composing. I admire music director A.R. Rahman a lot. I used to sing along to songs from \u2018Dil Se\u2019 while learning his compositions. Performing my compositions from \u2018Hi Nanna\u2019 in front of him at the IIFA awards was an unforgettable experience. I also like Telugu composers like Keeravani, Thaman, Devi sri Prasad, and Bheems.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I transitioned from being a singer to a music director, so the makers often request me to sing at least one song in my movies. I\u2019ve sung in films directed by other music directors like Mass Jathara and Kannappa as well. Singing in these projects has been a valuable experience and has helped me learn Telugu faster. I don\u2019t accept every opportunity that comes my way; I avoid projects that feel repetitive. However, I never refuse offers from companies like Sithara, Geetha Arts, and Mythri, which gave me recognition in Tollywood.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I have mostly composed love songs so far, but I am planning to work on mass and beat songs soon, as such opportunities arise. Background music plays a key role in romantic films. The BGM I composed for films like \u2018Manamey\u2019 and \u20188 Vasanthalu\u2019 received a good response. I am happy to work in the Telugu film industry, as opportunities keep coming one after another. I selectively work in Malayalam cinema and am currently involved in a film with Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi, directed by Aditya Hassan, along with projects in Tamil and Kannada.
