I wish for the grand success of Ghantasala The Great: Director–Producer Aditya Hasan at the Teaser Launch Event

No matter how much we speak about the legacy of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao (Ghantasala), it will never be enough. Based on his life story, Ghantasala The Great has been produced by Smt. C.H. Phani under the banner Anyukth Ram Pictures, with story, screenplay, and direction by C.H. Rama Rao. In this film, Krishna Chaitanya plays Ghantasala, Mridula portrays Savitramma, and Atulitha (of Tulasi movie fame) will appear as young Ghantasala, while Suman will be seen in a key role. The film is slated for release on December 12. As part of the promotions, the teaser was launched on Saturday by chief guest Aditya Hasan.

Aditya Hasan said: “I first got the opportunity to work in the industry with Balaji garu and Rama Rao garu through my friend Ashok. I worked with Rama Rao garu for just twelve days — he was the one who gave me my first remuneration. Later, I went abroad, and after returning I gradually grew into an independent director.

Ghantasala’s script is deeply emotional. Everyone must watch this film. I truly wish this movie achieves great success. My best wishes to the entire cast. Please watch and support the film releasing on December 12.”

Hero Krishna Chaitanya said: “I consider it a blessing to play the role of Ghantasala garu in Ghantasala The Great. I grew up listening to his songs, and today I feel fortunate to be part of a film that narrates his life story. The audience will witness his journey through this movie. My thanks to Rama Rao garu for this opportunity. Many who have already watched the film were deeply moved by it.

In Telugu film music, the first name that comes to mind is Ghantasala. Ghantasala garu and Balu garu are like two eyes to music lovers. With their blessings, this film is arriving on December 12. I hope everyone watches and supports it.”

Director Rama Rao said: “I am happy that my student Aditya Hasan attended this event and released the teaser. The moment we mention the word ‘song’, Ghantasala instantly comes to mind. More than his singing, I wanted people to know about his personality — that is why I made this film.

I approached many stars to portray Ghantasala. After seeing Krishna Chaitanya garu in Swarabhishekam, I felt he resembled Ghantasala. Everyone who watched the preview felt emotional. The film is releasing on December 12.

Some people are trying to block this movie from coming out, but I pray to God their efforts fail. No matter what obstacles arise, the film will release on December 12.”

Ramasatya Narayana Raju said: “It takes immense courage to make a biopic. Rama Rao garu has shown that courage through Ghantasala The Great. I watched the film and was extremely moved. The younger generation may not fully know Ghantasala’s greatness. This movie beautifully conveys it. Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao garu appreciated the film and said it would be a great movie like Mahanati. The film arrives on December 12 and is sure to touch the audience’s hearts.”

Shobha Rani said: “I am not worthy of speaking about someone like Ghantasala garu. Everyone knows him as a singer, but he was also a freedom fighter who participated in the Quit India Movement and was even imprisoned. I am happy that Rama Rao garu is bringing such a remarkable life story to the screen. It is our privilege to be a part of this event. Ghantasala garu was a noble personality deserving of every award. The government must certainly support this film. Krishna Chaitanya’s voice also resembles Ghantasala’s. The movie releases on December 12 — everyone should watch it.”

Karri Balaji said: “Ghantasala garu proved that hard work leads to success — the same holds true for Aditya Hasan. As a director and producer, he has reached great heights. Rama Rao garu also worked extremely hard for this film. All the characters feel natural and realistic. The film will be liked by audiences everywhere. Do watch it on December 12.”
