This horror thriller is being brought to audiences by Bunny Vaas and Vamsi Nandipati, known for delivering cult hits like Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambai. Damodar Prasad.

Ahead of the film’s release, director Srinivas Manne spoke with journalists on Friday, sharing insights into the project.

When asked about the long gap after Katha, Srinivas Manne said, “I received positive praise for Katha, and Genelia even won a Nandi Award for Best Actress for her performance. Although the film wasn’t a major commercial success, it was highly appreciated. The break in my career was due to personal reasons. I have a close association with Damodar Prasad, and with his support, I was able to make this film.”

Responding to whether he has updated himself in line with the evolving trends of Telugu cinema during his break, Srinivas Manne stated, “Cinema is my dream. I always stay updated. During this gap, I developed several scripts. I regularly watch Korean and Hollywood films. There have been many technical advancements in cinema, including in lighting and sound. Even if there are minor technical flaws, a strong story can make a film successful. However, technical quality is very important. I believe that everything in life is predetermined by God—our destinations are fixed, though unknown to us. It’s all about the journey.”

When asked about what sets Eesha apart from previous horror thrillers, Srinivas Manne explained, “This film combines horror with deeper elements like life, death, divinity, and the forces of creation. All these are interwoven throughout the story. Creation maintains a balance in everything. This film presents strong content, touching on various aspects. We have paid close attention to technical aspects such as makeup, costumes, lighting, and sound design.”

Speaking about the film’s frightening elements, he said, “There are several shocking elements in the movie. It’s not intended to be scary for the sake of it, but people will definitely be frightened while watching it. Those with weak hearts are advised not to watch it. The censor board found it very scary but appreciated its strong content. The storyline demanded such treatment.”

When questioned about his confidence in the film’s success, Srinivas Manne said, “Horror has its own dedicated audience. We trust the approach taken by Bunny Vaas and Vamsi Nandipati to take this film forward.”

Explaining the themes explored in Eesha, he said, “The film delves into friendship, human emotions, and philosophical elements. It discusses superstitions and spirits. Until something happens to us, we dismiss it as superstition. When it does happen, we begin to believe. This film portrays that idea. Those who have real-life experiences with such phenomena believe in them. Just because something hasn’t happened to us doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. The very term ‘spirit’ wouldn’t exist if spirits didn’t exist. Like good and evil, spirits are also part of creation.”

When asked directly whether spirits exist or not, Srinivas Manne replied, “You will know after watching the film. It will leave the audience shocked.”

On whether children should avoid the film, he clarified, “Even children will enjoy this film. These days, children are watching Korean horror films. They will like this one too.”

Regarding the impact of Akhil Raj’s recent hit Raju Weds Rambai on Eesha, the director said, “The success of Raju Weds Rambai is definitely a plus for our film. Not just Akhil, all characters in this movie will entertain the audience.”

Commenting on his future projects, Srinivas Manne stated, “I want to work across all genres.
