Family Audiences Can Definitely Watch \u2018EPIC \u2013 FIRST SEMESTER\u2019; There Is a \u2018Kadali\u2019 in Everyone\u201d: Vaishnavi Chaitanya<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The much-awaited youthful entertainer \u2018EPIC \u2013 FIRST SEMESTER\u2019, starring the blockbuster Baby pair Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on September 11, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film marks the directorial debut of young filmmaker Aditya Hasan, who won the hearts of Telugu audiences with the popular web series 90s. Presented by Srikara Studios and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, EPIC \u2013 FIRST SEMESTER has created strong anticipation, especially among the youth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahead of the release, heroine Vaishnavi Chaitanya interacted with the media and shared several interesting insights about the film, her character Kadali, working with Anand Deverakonda and director Aditya Hasan, and much more.<\/span><\/p>\n

On witnessing stardom as a Telugu girl<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am extremely happy. The support of my parents, the film industry and the audience has brought me this far. Many Telugu girls are making their mark in the film industry with their own individuality, and I am happy to be one among them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

About Anand and her characters in EPIC<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnand\u2019s character Aditya is soft and calm. What makes his journey interesting is what he learns from the experiences he encounters in life. I play Kadali, a strong girl who stands up for herself. She is a girl with clarity and knows what she wants.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Is Kadali close to your real-life personality?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a Kadali in everyone. But because of family or society, that version of ourselves often remains within us and doesn\u2019t come out. At some point in life, everyone has to stand up for themselves. That is why Kadali is a character very close to my heart.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On choosing films after Baby<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI want both the story and my character to offer something new. I should be able to see myself in that character. That was one of the main reasons I chose EPIC.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

About director Aditya Hasan<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with Aditya is a lot of fun. He observes life very deeply. He notices even the smallest things in life and talks about their significance. The same quality can be seen in EPIC. He shows how even the little things that happen between Aditya and Kadali have importance. Aditya is a unique director and he has become one of my favourite directors.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI had never met Aditya before. We met for the first time when he came to narrate EPIC. But I had already watched 90s, and I really loved the series.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On working with Anand again after Baby<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBaby and EPIC are completely different films in their own ways. There was no pressure, but we approached EPIC as a challenge. If audiences watch us in EPIC and don\u2019t think of Baby, then we have succeeded. We have been confident from the beginning that EPIC will receive the audience\u2019s love.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

About producer Naga Vamsi<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am very happy to work with the Sithara banner. Naga Vamsi garu gives everyone a lot of freedom. He never compromises when it comes to spending for the film. His only focus is on ensuring that the output of the film is good.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

From playing the sister in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo to playing the heroine under the same banner<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAla Vaikunthapurramuloo gave me the hope that everyone can set big goals in life. It made me believe that if we set big goals, we can achieve them. Experiencing something like this in my own life is extremely happy and difficult to express in words.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

What makes EPIC special?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have seen many love stories, but every love story has something unique about it. EPIC also has its own uniqueness. Two people with different paths and different mindsets go to the UK for their studies and meet there. They live together. The film revolves around the private conversations they have with each other.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe girl looks at life in one way, while the boy sees it differently. How did they meet? What are their perspectives? These aspects bring a sense of freshness to the story. There is no unnecessary extravaganza in the film. It is a story that touches your heart.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

What did you learn from EPIC?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI usually feel a little scared to speak openly about certain things. Through Kadali, I learnt something important \u2014 we must first believe in ourselves and be confident.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere have already been many films featuring independent women. What makes this film different is that Kadali is like an ocean. While dealing with a problem in her life, she finds a way to move forward. The character also carries a meaningful message.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Can family audiences watch EPIC?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely. Family audiences can watch the film. Since we talk about a live-in relationship, EPIC may not be as clean an entertainer as 90s. However, director Aditya has shown only what is required for the story, while keeping family audiences in mind. There are no uncomfortable scenes. Families can definitely watch the movie.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On her upcoming projects<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am currently doing a film with Nithiin garu under the Sithara banner. I am also working on two Tamil films and one Hindi film.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
