Kirshna (Nikhil) is a happy go lucky guy studying in an engineering college. Though he is of the first year, he falls for final year girl Meera (Simran Pareenja). When everything is going well between them, a tragedy strikes and Krishna changes into an emotional person. Sathya (Samyuktha Hegde), a junior who loves Krishna tries to change him. Did she succeed? How Krishna leaves his past and move on finally forms ‘Kirrak Party’.

PERFORMANCES :

Krishna is a tailor-made role for Nikhil and he aces it with his act. He shouldered the entire film and impressed while showcasing both shades of his character. His transformation from a cool and mischievous guy in the first half to a short-tempered student leader in the second half is brilliant. The intensity he has shown during the pre-interval episode shows his growth as an Actor.

Simran Pareenja, Samyuktha Hegde did a decent job in their roles. Brahmaji impresses as a mechanic. The student gang did well on their part.

HIGHLIGHTS :

Nikhil In Two Different Shades
First Half
College Episodes
Music
Climax Episode

DRAWBACKS :

Gets slow at times in the second half
Lengthy duration

ANALYSIS :

‘Kirrak Party’ is an official remake of Kannada Superhit “Kirrik Party’. Debut Director Sharan Koppisetty stays honest to original and did a commendable job in delivering a decent film overall. Though it doesn’t have a strong story, the entire first half is filled with fun moments backed with good music. The turn of events during the interval are also handled well. After a major turn in the story during the interval, the second half starts on a dull note with slow proceedings. But, the climax 15 minutes has been dealt very well and this episode compensates the dull part in second half.

Music and BGM by Ajaneesh are impressive and it helped to elevate the scenes, especially during the climax. Editing could have been better especially in second half. Short duration in the second half could have made things even better. CInematography by Advaitha Gurumurthy deserves a mention. He captured the college flavor perfectly with colorful visuals. Producer Anil Sunkara is appreciable for backing this out and out youth film and for delivering a quality product. Production values by AK Entertainments are laudable.

Bottom-Line: Enjoyable Party
Rating: 3/5
