Prathyusha Film Based On Real Incidents Sculpted After 24 Years By Sathya Reddy

Twenty four years ago, filmmaker Sathya Reddy made a bold and daring decision to produce a film titled Pratyusha, based on the shocking death of rising actress Pratyusha. At a time when the case had created a sensation across the united Telugu states and the entire country, naming the film directly after her was not an ordinary move. It required immense courage and conviction. Despite knowing that influential people including sons of ministers, police officials, wealthy businessmen, and real estate families were allegedly linked to the case, the young producer moved ahead with confidence and determination.

The film was launched at Annapurna Studios with a large cast that included well known actors such as Ankusham Ramireddy, Telangana Shakuntala, Customs Krishna, AVS, Ramya Sri, Iron Leg Sastry, Kallu Chidambaram, and Tirupati Prakash. However, as media attention grew, the lead hero and several technicians returned their advances out of fear. Undeterred, Sathya Reddy himself stepped in as hero, writer, lyricist, and singer to complete the film. Despite facing censor challenges and cuts, he re shot key scenes and successfully released the movie.

The film was distributed in Krishna and Guntur districts by Ashwini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies, contributing to its success. Sathya Reddy was honored in Vijayawada and given the title Janam Star. He later produced socially driven films like Ukku Satyagraham with Gaddar and has now advanced to direct an international project titled King Buddha in Hollywood.
