Plot
The story revolves around Major Kabir Dhaliwal (Hrithik Roshan), a former RAW agent who takes up freelance assignments and lands on a dangerous mission for Kali. The plot unfolds with Kabir’s mission, crossing paths with his nemesis Major Vikram (NTR), and the involvement of other characters, including Colonel Sunil Luthra (Ashutosh Rana) and Wing Commander Kavya Luthra (Kiara Advani).
Performances
Hrithik Roshan delivers an intense performance, showcasing his signature style and charisma. However, his role feels similar to his previous one in War. NTR makes his Bollywood debut, he delivers power packed performance in both action and emotional scenes. Towards climax, he showcases his acting talent. Kiara Advani is okay in her role, with limited screen time and a few action sequences. Other cast members, including Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana, perform according to their roles.

Analysis
Though War 2 story and screenplay follow a familiar trope, the grand action involving two superstars delivers a thrilling ride. Ayan Mukherjee’s focus on elevating the heroism of the two stars results in an action spectacle. The film balances action and drama effectively. War 2 turns out to exciting spy drama, but with a familiar and predictable story. Ayan Mukherjee utilised the golden opportunity and deliver exciting outing with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s powerful combination.
The songs, tuned by Pritam, are foot tapping, and special mention for the energetic “Salaame Anaali” where it’s a visual feast watching NTR and Hrithik Roshan showcase their dancing talent. Benjamin Jasper ACS cinematography is top notch capturing exotic locales. The characterizations of the two stars offer emotional depth with NTR’s grand debut to Bollywood. With some tighter writing and more interesting elements, the film could have been on a whole new level. As it stands, War 2 is an action feast with NTR and Hrithik Roshan riding high.
