The film, produced under the TNR Productions banner, features TNR, along with Mahadev, Anupama Prakash, and Deepti Srirangam in important roles. It was released in theaters today, on July 18. Let’s see how the movie is…
Plot:
T. Narasimhareddy alias Reddy (TNR) loses his father at a very young age. As a result, from a young age, he has to shoulder the responsibilities of his family. He sets aside his education and struggles to rise step by step. He falls in love with the village president’s daughter, Vennela (Deepthi Srirangam), but their love doesn’t culminate in marriage. Eventually, after coming to the city, TNR starts small settlements and eventually builds a successful construction company called “Reddy Construction,” making crores. Despite having money, he constantly suffers from a sense of lack, pain, and loneliness. At the same time, a new woman, Keerthana (Anupama Prakash), enters his life. How does TNR’s life change after that? What is Keerthana’s perspective on marriage? How does TNR get cheated by his friends? Ultimately, will TNR experience moments of happiness in his life, or not? This is the crux of the story.
Every person’s life is filled with love, affection, friends, betrayals, ups, and downs. This is the core theme that the makers of Mr. Reddy have taken. Producer TNR wrote the script based on events from his own life, driven by the desire to bring his life story to the screen. In this biographical film, TNR plays multiple roles as a producer and actor.
Performances:
As for the actors, TNR fits perfectly into a role suited to his age.
Mahadevv plays the role of a young Reddy very well.
The heroines Deepti and Anupama shine in their respective roles, both in terms of their looks and acting.
The supporting cast members like Bhaskar, Gautham, and others have also done a great job in their roles.
Analysis:
The story of Mr. Reddy sounds very intriguing. TNR is portraying his own life, highlighting struggles, love, betrayal, and personal growth, which makes it feel like a very personal and relatable narrative. The concept of a man who achieves material success but remains emotionally unfulfilled resonates with many people. The introduction of the Keerthana character also seems like it will lead to pivotal changes in TNR’s life. The balance between emotional depth and dramatic events seems to be at the heart of the film.
The first half of the film focuses on TNR’s growth, his introduction to Keerthana, and their love scenes. The parallel screenplay that moves between the past and present keeps the audience engaged. The first half ends with a dramatic turn of events, where TNR faces an accident, and this raises curiosity about the second half.
In the second half, the screenplay dive deeper into TNR’s past. The pre-climax and climax scenes follow a somewhat predictable path, but they still manage to maintain the emotional intensity.
The film is impressive. The visuals are very natural, beautifully capturing the rural setting. The music is pleasing, with the love song standing out as a highlight. The editing is one of the movie’s key strengths, and its shorter runtime works in favor of keeping the audience engaged. It’s clear that as a producer, TNR did not compromise and ensured the film had high production values.
Rating; 2.75/5
Bottom-line: Engaging Commercial Entertainer
