Director, Producer and Actor Poorvaaj Announces Rs. 1 Crore Prize for Guessing Killer’s Second-Half Twist
“The story of Killer has a novelty point that has never been seen in any other film. We will award Rs. 1 crore to anyone who correctly guesses the second-half twist,” said director, producer and actor Poorvaaj at the film’s Rs. 1 crore contest press meet
Killer is a sensational sci-fi thriller featuring Jyoti Poorvaj and Poorvaaj in lead roles. Manish Gillada, Chandrakanth Kollu, Ayanabattina Dasaratha Madhav, Vishal Raj, Archana Ananth, and Gautham Chakradhar Koppisetti play other important roles. Made with the blessings of Dhyanam Nannagaru, the film is being produced by Poorvaaj and Padmanabha Reddy A. under the banners of Think Cinema and AU & I Studios. Urvish Poorvaj is presenting the film, which is directed by Poorvaaj. Killer is set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on October 30th. OMG Pictures is distributing the film overseas.
At the press meet held in Hyderabad, members of the cast and crew spoke about the film, its intriguing twists, and the unique Rs. 1 crore contest announced by the makers.
Line Producer Seetharam said, “Along with working as the line producer for this film, I have also acted in a character. You will have to watch the film to understand how crucial my role is to the story. The entire team has worked extremely hard for this project, and audiences will see their efforts on screen.”
Actress Manasa said, “Even though I acted in this film, I do not know what the twist in the story is. You will have to watch the film in theatres on the 30th of this month to discover it. Our director’s confidence has increased our belief in the film’s success as well. I request audiences to support our movie.”
Actor Chandrakanth said, “Our director delivered a superb speech. Every character in the film, including mine, will surprise audiences. There are several interesting elements in the movie. We also organised a contest for women, asking what they would do if they were given superpowers. When I asked Jyoti garu the same question, she said that women naturally possess superpowers. A woman has the extraordinary ability to give birth to a child. Audiences will witness the magic created by Super She through her powers in this film.”
Actor Gautham Chakradhar said, “I have played a good role in this film, and I got this opportunity because of our line producer, Dasaratha Madhav. Our director is a talented filmmaker that Telugu cinema is fortunate to have. Through the Rs. 1 crore contest, he is involving audiences directly in the film. Even we do not know what the twist is. I believe the film will offer an excellent theatrical experience to everyone participating in the contest. Please watch and support our movie in theatres.”
Actor Manish Gillada said, “I feel fortunate to have acted in this masterpiece created by Poorvaaj garu. I have a good character in this film, and I am happy that my dream of becoming an actor has come true. We worked on Killer with immense passion. Every actor and technician was motivated to give their complete effort, without thinking about money. We saw the future of cinema in Killer and attempted to create something that goes beyond conventional Telugu filmmaking. We hope audiences will support our efforts.”
Actor and line producer Ayanabattina Dasaratha Madhav said, “I believe the love and affection of Telugu audiences are my greatest strengths as an actor. I request you to bless our film Killer and support me as a performer. I would also like to extend birthday wishes to senior film journalist Prabhu garu, who is celebrating his birthday today. Please come to theatres on the 30th of this month and enjoy the film. I am eager to see who among you will become a winner through our Rs. 1 crore contest.”
He further said, “Director Poorvaaj anna has created this film with surprising elements and fresh characters. Every character will thrill audiences, and Jyoti garu impresses with her performances in different roles. The film maintains engaging suspense until the pre-climax, while the climax will leave audiences astonished. I request everyone to make Killer a big success.”
Heroine Jyoti Poorvaj said, “Our film is now ready for release, and the premieres will take place tomorrow evening. We have already shared everything we wanted to tell audiences about the film and the hard work put in by our cast and crew. We are confident that we will soon celebrate a success meet.”
She added, “We also conducted the Super She contest for women, asking what they would do if they possessed superpowers. We selected eight participants who sent inspiring answers and are happy to present Rs. 20,000 to each of them on this stage. Every one of us possesses inner strength. We can also consider the soldiers who protect our country every day as people with superpowers. Our entire team salutes them. I congratulate Poorvaaj for bringing such a brilliant subject as Killer to the screen. Every member of our team worked hard and stood by us throughout this journey. Their trust and support have brought us all together here today, and we believe we have succeeded in our efforts.”
High Court advocate Suresh said, “Poorvaaj garu discussed the Rs. 1 crore contest with me in detail. After our discussions, we concluded that there were no legal issues with conducting it under the proposed rules. Everyone should appreciate his courage and confidence as a filmmaker. He is offering such a substantial prize because he believes in his film, and this is an offer that no other filmmaker has made so far.”
He continued, “The prize will be awarded to the person who watches the film in theatres and correctly predicts the twist in the story. Such a huge reward would not be offered if the twist were easy to guess. Audiences must watch the film carefully and pay close attention. I hope Poorvaaj continues making films with the same confidence.”
Director, producer and actor Poorvaaj said, “As soon as we announced the Rs. 1 crore contest for our film, it reached audiences very well. We said that we would announce the winner at the success meet. However, some people on social media have been posting comments asking whether our film will be successful and whether it will even collect Rs. 1 crore at the box office. We are simply asking audiences to watch the film if our promotional content excites them.”
He explained the contest rules in detail, saying, “We did not announce the prize casually. We have prepared an agreement with specific conditions in consultation with a High Court advocate. Our movie bookings are opening, and the premieres will be held on the 29th of this month at 10 PM. The major twist in the second half has a significant reason behind it. Within five minutes of the interval, participants must send a one-line answer to our WhatsApp number, 7330608675. They must also send a photograph of their ticket along with their answer.”
Poorvaaj further clarified, “All messages received within those five minutes will be recorded on this mobile phone. The answer submitted by the participant must match our official answer. We have also recorded our answer on video with the date as proof. The winner will be announced at the success meet, and the prize will be awarded based on the rules, including the time at which the correct answer is received.”
Speaking about the film’s novelty, he said, “We have already shared several details about our movie, but it contains a unique element that audiences have never seen in any other film. Killer will not end with just one instalment; four or five parts are planned. Jyoti has delivered superb performances in several different roles, and I can never forget the support she has given me for this film. I am confident that our movie will be a success.”
