AP FDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan Holds Discussions with Telugu Television 24 Crafts
The Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation (APFDC) recently announced the Nandi Awards for the cinema, television and theatre sectors of Andhra Pradesh.
As part of this, APFDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan, along with APFDC members Burra Sai Madhav and Meer, TV & OTT South President Prasad Rao, TV Federation President Nani, Telugu Film Producers Council Secretary Thummala Prasanna Kumar, and representatives from the 24 crafts of the television industry held discussions on various issues concerning the TV sector.
During the meeting, Bharat Bhushan said that the Nandi Awards, which have been pending for the past few years, would be presented soon. He said details on how the awards from 2017 to 2024 would be presented would be announced shortly. He also announced that the Nandi Awards would be presented every year from 2025 onwards.
He said efforts are being made to organise the Nandi Awards function in Tirupati, in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, either in the last week of November or the first week of December.
Bharat Bhushan also requested representatives from the television industry to conduct more TV programmes and shootings in Andhra Pradesh. He said that instead of conducting only limited shoots in the state, efforts should be made to organise as many shoots as possible in Andhra Pradesh.
Representatives of the television industry said they were ready to conduct shootings in Andhra Pradesh, but requested the APFDC Chairman to ensure complete support from the government. They also requested the government to provide land for studios and shooting facilities, both in major cities and in different districts of the state.
They also requested that opportunities be provided to local artists and technicians while bringing people from other states for shootings. They asked that the television media sector should also be given proper importance along with the TV industry.
The representatives also requested health insurance and, if possible, pension facilities for artists. They appealed for shooting subsidies and government support to help producers complete projects at lower costs without putting an additional financial burden on them.
Responding positively to their requests, APFDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan said that detailed discussions would be held soon and appropriate decisions would be taken. He assured that steps would be taken to ensure that the film, television and theatre sectors do not face difficulties.
He clarified that these issues cannot be decided immediately and said that committees would soon be formed to study them. After the discussions, the government will announce appropriate decisions regarding these matters
