Mega Duo Chiranjeevi – Ram Charan Scripted History Delivered 300 Cr Blockbusters In Same Year
For the first time in Indian cinema history a father son duo released films in the same year and both crossed 300 crore gross worldwide. Megastar Chiranjeevi scored big with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu while Mega Power Star Ram Charan took over with Peddi. Both films became talk of the town and pulled huge crowds from opening day. Fans on social media called it a new chapter in world cinema because two generations delivered back to back blockbusters in 2026.
The Mega family trend became number one on X and Instagram with fans sharing edits and celebrations. This rare feat made trade analysts compare it to legendary Bollywood families but said no father son pair had achieved twin 300 Cr grossers in one calendar year before.
Peddi directed by Buchi Babu Sana completed 11 days with 393 crore gross worldwide as of June 15 2026 and is now close to the 400 crore club. The rural sports drama kept strong footfalls in Telugu states and overseas thanks to Ram Charan’s fan base and AR Rahman’s music. Makers added new scenes from Wednesday which helped weekend collections stay high.
On the other hand Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu also became one of Tollywood’s biggest hits of 2026 with strong family audience support. The film ran for 50 plus days in key centers and crossed 375+ crore with help of holiday bookings and repeat audience. Together these two films proved Mega brand power still rules box office and set a benchmark that fans say will be very hard for any other father son pair to break in future.
