Analysis:

The film’s core strength lies in its emotional portrayal of a Jiiva’s struggle to save his mother. The cast, particularly Jiiva and Arjun Sarja, deliver impactful performances that elevate the narrative. Arjun’s mysterious presence adds layers of complexity to the unfolding drama. The plot weaves a narrative of emotional struggle, mystery, and the lengths a person will go to for their loved ones.

Altogether, Aghathiyaa turns out to be an impressive thriller. Despite having Jiiva and Arjun Sarja in key roles, director Pa. Vijay falters to deliver a perfect thriller. Some elements of the story follow familiar tropes, reducing the element of surprise. “Aghathiyaa” attempts to blend emotional drama with supernatural mystery, creating a unique cinematic experience. Jiiva’s heartfelt performance and Arjun Sarja’s enigmatic presence are the film’s standout features. The film’s emotional core, centered on a mother-son relationship, provides a strong foundation.

The direction, while aiming for a complex narrative, has some moments of greatness. The cinematography provides fitting visuals, and the production values are adequate. While Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music might not be the most memorable, it serves its purpose in setting the mood. The core of the movie revolves around the emotional ties of the characters, and the lengths they will go to, to save the ones they love.
