Small film Ameer Log has been generating steady buzz with its captivating teaser and trailer capturing Hyderabad’s heart. Adding major credibility, Rana Daggubati presenting the project has significantly increased its visibility and expectations among movie lovers. Made with rooted Deccan flavor, the film released on 21 Aug 2026 aiming to offer a fresh, youthful entertainer.
Plot
The story revolves around three carefree friends Seenu (Hari), Rafiq (Manoj) and Mallesh (Sashidhar) who enjoy life in a bindaas manner without caring for their near and dear ones. They pass time roaming in Old City, cracking jokes and ignoring responsibilities. However, following an unexpected incident, they are forced to change their behavior completely. What is that incident, how it transforms their lives, and what role Nazeer (Sai Yogi), Chacha (Viswender Reddy), Seenu’s mother, Rafiq’s brother and sister-in-law, Mallesh’s parents, and the pivotal Geetha (Vedha Jalandharr) and Ravi (Ravan Nitturu) play forms the rest of the narrative.
Performances
The film truly belongs to its lead trio and they deliver spirited, natural performances. Hari as Seenu is highly impressive. He perfectly portrays the arc from a listless youngster to a responsible man. His expressions in emotional scenes, especially with his mother, show remarkable maturity and he carries the film’s emotional core with ease and conviction. Manoj as Rafiq is the biggest surprise and the soul of the film. His dialogue delivery, body language and Deccani mannerisms are spot-on and highly entertaining. He also delivered emotions perfectly. Sashidhar as Mallesh ensures the narration sails smoothly. He provides excellent balance to the trio with his subtle acting and innocent charm.
Vishwender Reddy as Chacha is perfect, delivering impactful dialogues with natural authority and adding gravitas. Vedha Jalandharr in a pivotal role as a sister figure rather than a conventional female lead is a refreshing choice and she performs well. Ravan Nitturu, Sai Yogi and Pawon Ramesh are all effective and perform according to their roles, making the ensemble authentic and relatable.

Analysis
The first half establishes the fun filled world of the three friends with entertaining Hyderabadi dialogues and Old City vibes, keeping the tone light and humorous. The director smartly uses their carefree nature to build a strong connect. The interval bang is handled well, turning a decent first half into an engaging setup. The second half continues in a smooth and sedate manner, shifting towards emotions and realization. Though the screenplay becomes slightly predictable as the youngsters realize their mistakes, the friendship bonding and situational humor keep it engaging without major lags.
On the technical front, director Ramana Reddy Soma should be appreciated for choosing a simple point and narrating it interestingly without relying on a routine heroine track. The dialogues are natural and entertaining, never forced. SVK’s cinematography beautifully captures Hyderabad’s Old City culture, both day hustles and nightlife, in a realistic way with perfect camera angles. Smaran Sai’s background score complements the proceedings and his foot-tapping songs highlight the Deccani flavor effectively. Editing by Rohit Penumasta is decent though a few drags could have been trimmed. Production values are solid for a small film. Overall, Ameer Log is a decent, feel good entertainer that celebrates friendship and Hyderabad culture with heart.
