RRR Bulgaria Producer Todor Lazarov Juji Invites Indian Filmmakers to Discover Europe’s Next Major Production Hub

Hyderabad: As Indian cinema continues its global expansion, Bulgaria is emerging as one of Europe’s most attractive destinations for international film production. Combining competitive production costs, attractive financial incentives, world-class infrastructure, experienced crews, and an exceptional variety of filming locations, the country is increasingly positioning itself as a strategic production hub for Indian filmmakers looking to expand into Europe.

Leading this initiative is Todor Lazarov Juji, Founder of TL Production and Producer and Line Producer for the Bulgaria schedule of S.S. Rajamouli’s global blockbuster RRR, who is actively promoting Bulgaria as a long-term production partner for India’s rapidly growing film industry.

“Bulgaria is far more than just another filming destination. It is a complete production partner capable of supporting Indian filmmakers from the earliest stages of development through post-production, while providing direct access to the European market. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships that make filming in Europe easier, faster, and more competitive for Indian producers,” says Juji.

Why Bulgaria?
Instead of simply offering beautiful locations, Bulgaria provides a complete production ecosystem capable of supporting projects of every scale, from independent films to large international blockbusters.
Indian producers can benefit from:
Competitive production costs
25% cash rebate for eligible productions
One of Europe’s lowest corporate tax rates
Modern film studios and sound stages
Highly experienced international crews
Advanced VFX, CGI, and post-production facilities
Diverse locations ranging from medieval castles and Roman ruins to mountains, forests, Black Sea beaches, and contemporary European cities
With decades of experience hosting major Hollywood and international productions, Bulgaria has established itself as one of Europe’s most reliable filming destinations.

A Vision to Bring Indian Cinema Closer to Bulgaria

“My vision is simple: when an Indian producer thinks about filming in Europe, I want Bulgaria to be among the very first destinations that come to mind. We are ready with world-class crews, outstanding locations, competitive incentives, and the experience to deliver productions at the highest international level,” says Juji.

Juji’s connection with Indian cinema extends beyond facilitating international productions in Bulgaria. Having worked closely with Indian filmmakers, including on the Bulgaria schedule of RRR, he is now strengthening that relationship through upcoming Indian film collaborations.

“Though my cinema journey began in Bulgaria, my heart belongs to India. Inspired by its vibrant culture and the belief that great stories transcend borders, I started a production and creative company in India with Ashish Ganeshan named Tod Ash Chapterhouse. I am deeply honored to produce and direct, together with debutant Ashish Ganeshan, an upcoming superhero film, a significant portion of which we are shooting right here in Bulgaria. I truly feel like an Indian working in Bulgaria, and I am endlessly grateful to collaborate with the extraordinary talent of a country I hold so dear,” says Juji.

The upcoming superhero film with Ashish Ganeshan further reflects Juji’s vision of creating a stronger creative and production bridge between the Indian and Bulgarian film industries, with a significant portion of the project being filmed in Bulgaria.

Through TL Production, Todor Lazarov Juji aims to provide Indian filmmakers with comprehensive production support in Bulgaria, helping productions navigate locations, crews, logistics, infrastructure, incentives, and on-ground execution while creating a seamless gateway for Indian cinema into Europe.

With its combination of cinematic landscapes, international-standard infrastructure, experienced filmmaking talent, and production-friendly economics, Bulgaria is ready to welcome the next generation of Indian films and become a new European home for Indian cinema.
