While they are in Europe they find themselves in deeper trouble due to their wives. What happens thereafter and how did they save their marriages forms ‘F2’.

Performances:

Victory Venkatesh sets the screens on fire with his impeccable comic timing. The director Anil Ravipudi has been successful in presenting the vintage Venkatesh on the big screen. Naturally, it is a delight to see him in such a joyous mood.

Varun Tej tries another character that is new to him. It is in complete contrast to what he has done previously. The mass body language and Telangana slang are a plus and help him stand his ground along with a senior star.

Tamannah and Mehreen Pirzada have got more than a decent role in this commercial entertainer. They go with the overall tone of the movie and are loud from the start apart from brief moments in between. Rajendra Prasad is an excellent asset as usual and shows it again. Prakash Raj shines in a funny character after a gap. Senior artists Annapurnamma and Y Vijaya are a hoot with their timing. Jhansi and others do their parts well and stand out in the comedy family entertainer.

Analysis:

Anil Ravipudi within few movies has become a director who is generating expectations. F2, his new film comes with high anticipation due to the coming together of Venkatesh and Varun Tej, both of whom are working with him for the first time. Right from the first frame, Anil Ravipudi sets the tone for what is to come. A laugh riot is on offer with the entertainment never ending until the last frame. What is of real importance and note here is the freshness of the comedy on offer.

The first half, especially with Venkatesh in sublime form is a classic. There is a slight disturbance in the second half when the sequences and characters seem to be created just for the heck of it without not much connection to the main plot. The characters keep on popping up out of nowhere with uniquely defined traits. However, the complaint here is not the lack of comedy rather too much of it, and not everything works. The climax is also stretched and leads to boredom. All said and done; the job is done in the first half itself.

Devi Sri Prasad has given a good output with the songs and the background score. They are different from his usual effort which makes it stand out. The cinematography by Sameer Reddy is neat and the editing sharp. The production values by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations needs no special mention. Producers Sirish, Laxman knows where to spend, and it is unmistakably visible on the big screen.

Do yourself a favour watch F2 this weekend if you want to have a healthy laugh forgetting all the frustration.

Bottom-line: Perfect Sankranthi Entertainer

Rating: 3.25/5
