Analysis

The first half is youthful, colorful and entertaining, focusing on the budding romance between Mano and Nivedha, filled with light hearted office moments and charming chemistry. Director Yuvaraj Chinnasamy establishes the connection beautifully before smoothly introducing the flashback. The second half shifts to a more intense and emotional zone, loaded with powerful dialogues and heartfelt confrontations. Instead of going for melodrama, the director handles the emotions with maturity and ends the film on a positive, meaningful note giving a beautiful message to Gen X and Gen Z to respect the past but move forward in life.

On the technical front, ‘Haiku’ is aesthetically strong. Siddhu Kumar’s music is a major highlight, his songs are situational, melodious and instantly connect with the youth, while his background score adds deep soul and power to the emotional scenes. Priyesh Gurusamy’s cinematography is impressive, capturing natural locations and youthful romance with vibrant and appealing frames. Sakthi Pranesh’s editing is decent and keeps the uni dimensional screenplay clear without confusion, though a couple of slow moments could have been trimmed. The dialogues are effective and impactful. Overall, ‘Haiku’ is a clean, poetic and emotionally rewarding love story that will resonate with young hearts.
