We all know how the #MeToo movement has affected the careers of actors and technicians of the Indian film industry. Anu Malik was working as one of the judges for the ongoing singing reality show, Indian Idol. Popular singer Sona Mohapatra condemned it and lashed out on the channel for roping in Anu for the show. She also wrote an open letter explaining the wrongdoings of Anu Malik. Another singer Neha Bhasin also stated that Anu has asked for sexual favors from her, in the past.
These allegations have finally made the channel to drop Anu as the judge. They now replaced him with Himesh Reshammiya. However, Anu said that he is on a break right now and will be back after three weeks. But Himesh has a different version to say. He said that he had already adjusted his dates for the show and is hoping that he will be working on it till the end of the season. Himesh also added that he is following the show from the start and he knows how every singer is performing. This makes him judge the show properly rather than being new by coming in midway.
