After her comeback into films, Amala Akkineni has been choosy in picking up scripts and acted in only a few films like Life is Beautiful, Karwaan and a web series called High Priestess. Now, she signed a mother role in Sharwanand’s upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film. The actress is currently taking part in the shoot which is happening in Hyderabad.
This film is being directed by debutant Shree Karthik and produced by SR Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures banner. The makers were initially skeptical about whether Amala will accept this role or not, but after hearing the script, the actress gave an immediate nod. The director said that Amala’s role in the film is key to the proceedings and he is happy that she accepted to do it. He also added that she speaks Tamil and Telugu fluently on the sets.
Even Amala expressed her happiness for being a part of this project, by tweeting, “It’s been heartwarming playing Amma to Sharwanand. Working in a Tamil / Telugu bilingual after many years.” Ritu Varma is playing the female lead in this untitled film and Tharun Bhascker is penning the Telugu version’s dialogues.
