Story:
Narasimha (Balakrishna) and Gowri (Nayantara) are childhood friends. It grows as love, and they want to marry. However, Narasimha’s (Balakrishna) aggressive attitude creates many enemies for him which leads to issues with love. Narasimha (Balakrishna) takes a bold decision for the safety of Gowri (Nayantara). What is the resolution and how it involves the kids of Narasimha (Balakrishna)?
Performances:
Nandamuri Balakrishna once again shows versatility as an actor. After doing a film like Paisa Vasool, here is Jai Simha he exhibits an entirely different body language. There are further three different shades of the role which are highlighted appropriately. The emotional scenes at the hospital show the acting depth of the star.
Nayantara is fabulous and has a commanding presence throughout. She holds the scene together whenever she is around. Apart from her Haripriya too stands out in the brief moments she has while pairing up with Balakrishna. Natasha Doshi amps up the glamor quotient.
Prakash Raj and Murali Mohan provide the solid anchoring to keep the emotions grounded. Ashutosh Rana is okay in the villain role. Brahmanandam is seen after a small gap, and he is hilarious.

Analysis:
Jai Simha has a very predictable story reminding us of the movies from a few decades ago. Director KS Ravi Kumar takes an old subject like that and narrates it leisurely at a slow pace giving scope for emotions. The overall proceedings provide a dated vibe, but they work well within the setting the director has created.
The movie builds the momentum slowly in the first half with a perfect blend of comedy and elevation. The heroic moments are timed correctly and executed neatly by KS Ravi Kumar. The sequence at the temple and interval are the examples.
The second half starts at the same pace but really gets going after a twist in the plot midway. A heavy duty emotion is built into the narrative with the scenes involving Balakrishna and Prakash Ra coming out well. The climax could have been better though. Overall, Jai Simha is a decent one time watch for mass movie lovers.
Music director Chirantan Bhatt has done his part well in giving foot-tapping melodies. The background score is okay. The cinematography and editing are neat. Dialogues by M.Ratnam are right with a proper mixture of heroism and sentiment. Production values by Producer C.Kalyan are excellent.
