OUR BELIEF HAS PAID OFF: SURIYADEVARA NAGA VAMSI EXPRESSES HAPPINESS OVER THE PHENOMENAL SUCCESS OF ‘JAILER 2’ IN TELUGU STATES
The phenomenal box-office performance of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 in the Telugu states has brought immense joy to producer and distributor Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, who expressed his happiness over the film’s encouraging response and strong theatrical performance.
The 2023 blockbuster Jailer, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, created a sensation upon its release. Now, its sequel, Jailer 2, has arrived in theatres amid huge expectations. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, the film was released on October 15 and received a positive response from audiences across sections right from its opening shows, with strong box-office collections.
The Telugu states’ distribution rights were acquired by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, head of the prominent production house Sithara Entertainments. The film has been performing strongly at the box office across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Against this backdrop, Naga Vamsi held a press meet to share his happiness over the film’s performance. Mythri Shashi of Mythri Movie Distributors, who distributed the film in the Nizam region, also attended the event.
Suryadevara Naga Vamsi said:
“Whether it is a film we produce or one we distribute, it gives us immense happiness when distributors earn their commission. In recent times, it has become increasingly rare for distributors to make such returns. Initially, many people were worried that we had acquired Jailer 2 at a very high price. However, after seeing the collections from the evening shows on October 15, the distributors expressed confidence that they would definitely earn their commission.
“We took a risk because we believed in Rajinikanth garu, Nelson garu and Anirudh garu. It gives us immense satisfaction to see that our faith is paying off. We can never forget the support extended by the media to Jailer 2. The film has received a tremendous response from all quarters. I hope the media’s support continues and that Jailer 2 goes on to achieve even bigger collections in the coming days.”
Mythri Shashi said:
“We are confident that Jailer 2 will achieve huge collections. Everyone who has watched the film is thoroughly enjoying it. The action and entertainment elements are appealing to audiences, and Anirudh’s music is outstanding.
“We are delighted that Sithara Entertainments entrusted the Nizam distribution rights of the film to Mythri Movie Distributors. Our friend and brother Nagarjuna also extended valuable support to us. In my assessment, we would have achieved the break-even point and moved into profits by Vijayadashami itself.
“I thank the Telugu audience for making this success possible and our media friends for standing by us and extending their continued support.”
The strong response to Jailer 2 in the Telugu states has brought renewed confidence to its distribution team, with the makers and distributors hoping for an even stronger run in the days ahead.
