Small films often come with big heart and fresh ideas, and Kiku Chiranjeevi, released on 28th August 2026, is a perfect example of that spirit. Directed by Shubha Sai Venkat, the film introduces Kiku Yanamala and Kashish Khan in the lead roles.
Plot
The story revolves around Chiru (Kiku Yanamala), an orphan who lives with a rare ailment, and Manu aka Manasa (Kashish Khan), a beautiful and independent girl who has very clear pre conditions for marriage and rejects many matches. When Manu meets Chiru, there is an instant connection and they quickly fall in love, bringing a fresh, youthful energy.
Just when their love story seems to blossom, Manu faces an unexpected shock related to Chiru’s life. What is that truth? How does Manu react to it? How do the people around them, Manu’s father (Srikanth Iyengar), Raghava Rao (Goparaju Ramana), the mysterious Mask Man (Rajeev Ravichandra), Chiru’s mother (Easwari Rao), her brother (Tanikella Bharani) and the Investigation Officer (Sriram Venkat) influence their journey? forms the crux of an engaging narrative that moves from romance to thriller seamlessly.
Performances
Kiku Yanamala makes a highly impressive debut. Playing a youngster suffering from a rare disorder is not easy, but he pulls it off with remarkable ease and sincerity. He brings out the vulnerability, charm, and inner strength of his character beautifully. He is natural, confident, and holds the film firmly on his shoulders.
The performances are undoubtedly the soul of Kiku Chiranjeevi. Kashish Khan is a revelation. She handles both romantic portions and intense emotional scenes with subtle expressions and adds a lot of depth and value to every scene she is part of. Her screen presence is captivating.
Easwari Rao, as always, is impactful and brings gravitas to a tailor made role. Her motherly emotions and powerful screen presence leave a lasting impression. Tanikella Bharani adds weight in a key role with his seasoned act. Goparaju Ramana and Srikanth Iyengar are perfect in their respective characters, providing solid support. Sriram Venkat is convincing as the investigation officer, while Rajeev Ravichandra as Mask Man brings the necessary intrigue. The entire supporting cast does complete justice to their parts.

Analysis
The first half of Kiku Chiranjeevi is a delightful youthful entertainer that sets the tone perfectly. Director Shubha Sai Venkat starts the narration in a very interesting and engaging way, establishing the lead pair’s chemistry with some lovely romantic scenes, light hearted comedy, and a bold, beautifully picturized song that elevates the mood before the interval. The romance is fresh and relatable. The second half smartly shifts gears from romance to thriller, which is the film’s biggest strength. It keeps us engaged with a couple of well executed twists that surprise and add momentum to the story. The way the mystery unfolds and connects to the earlier portions is handled neatly, leading to a satisfying pre-climax and a heartfelt climax that justifies the journey.
On the technical front, the film scores well for its budget. Ramakrishna P’s cinematography is pleasing and captures both the romantic moments and the thriller elements effectively according to the narration. Shekar Chandra’s music is a major highlight, one romantic number is already a chartbuster with its bold and intimate visuals, while his background score seamlessly enhances the emotions and thrills. Chota K Prasad’s editing keeps the narrative crisp, and the dialogues are natural and youthful. The production values are decent and honest. Overall, Kiku Chiranjeevi is a sincere and engaging attempt that entertains with good performances, nice twists, and heartfelt emotions.
