The sensational sci-fi thriller “KilleR”, starring Jyoti Poorvaj and Poorvaaj in the lead roles, features Manish Gilada, Chandrakanth Kollu, Dasaratha Madhav, Vishal Raj, Archana Ananth, and Gautham Chakradhar Koppisetti in other important roles. With the blessings of Dhyanam Nannagaru, the film is being produced by Poorvaaj and A. Padmanabha Reddy under the banners of Think Cinema and AU & I Studios. Urvish Poorvaj is presenting the film, which is directed by Poorvaaj.

“KilleR” is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on October 30. OMG Pictures is distributing the film in overseas markets. The trailer was launched grandly in Hyderabad by Blockbuster Director Harish Shankar.

Chief Editor B. Manoj Kumar said, “I am always interested in working on Poorvaaj’s films because his projects are highly creative. He gives us a lot of freedom when it comes to our work. Jyoti Poorvaj treats me like a brother. I am confident that ‘Killer’ will keep audiences thoroughly engaged.”

Cinematographer Jagadeesh Bommishetty said, “This is my second film with Poorvaaj. His ideas are always fresh and unconventional. We work extremely hard to bring his vision to the screen. Jyoti Poorvaj has delivered a superb performance in this film. We believe ‘Killer’ will bring recognition to everyone involved.”

Actor Chandu said, “I came from the media industry, and it is the support of our media friends that has brought me to this stage. I am continuing my journey in both media and cinema. People often ask me what films I have acted in, and ‘Killer’ will be my answer to them. I hope this film brings great recognition to our director Poorvaaj and Jyoti Poorvaj, while also earning good returns for our producer.”

Actor Gautham Chakradhar Koppisetti said, “Poorvaaj edits the footage on the very day it is shot. Recently, Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ came out, and watching the ‘Killer’ trailer reminded me of that film. I hope you experienced a similar feeling. Jyoti Poorvaj has played six different characters in this film, and Sia is my personal favourite among them. She performs some impressive fight sequences. Jyoti Poorvaj inspires young women to learn martial arts. Her performances across all six characters are outstanding.”

Producer A. Padmanabha Reddy said, “When I see so many people standing on this stage and speaking about the film, I understand how much effort a director puts into a project. Five years ago, Poorvaaj approached us with a story that had a very large canvas. Initially, we wondered whether a new director would be able to handle such a script. Later, he came to us with several new concepts. Today, seeing a director we believed in grow and establish himself makes me feel happy and satisfied. I am equally delighted to see cinematographer Jagadeesh Bommishetti gaining recognition.

“During our journey, we sometimes move forward and unintentionally leave a few people behind. But Poorvaaj has always continued his journey while taking everyone around him along with him. That is one of his special qualities. When I worked with him previously, I believed more in his talent as a director than simply in his stories and concepts. I backed this film because I trusted his creative abilities. I watched the film after the first copy was ready, and I felt very happy with what I saw. I sincerely hope this film brings success to our entire team and allows our association to continue with many more projects.”

Heroine Jyoti Poorvaj said, “We began this journey two years ago during Navaratri, taking the script to several temples dedicated to Goddess Durga and performing special prayers. Now, we are launching the trailer this Dussehra. I believe all of you will enjoy it.

“I have been associated with the film industry for a long time, but the story of ‘Killer’ is very different and innovative. It is a film built around international-standard science-fiction concepts and a screenplay in that style. I feel proud of Poorvaaj for bringing such a distinctive film to the screen. His vision is always unique, and I believe audiences will have moments when they say, ‘Wow!’ while watching ‘Killer’.

“We did not make this film simply to earn crores of rupees. We made it out of passion. Audiences have appreciated me through my television serials, and many may be wondering what I can do in films. ‘Killer’ is my answer to them. I want audiences to watch the film and tell me whether I have been able to impress them as an actress while continuing my journey in the industry. I believe they will recognise my talent through this film rather than judging me on glamour alone.”

Producer and director Poorvaaj said, “I believe our trailer has given you a memorable experience. We made the teaser quite intriguing, introducing Jyoti Poorvaj in several different roles, including a terrorist, housewife, vampire, spy and Super She. The teaser created a good buzz around the film.

“According to the original schedule given to us by the VFX team, we were supposed to release the film in March or April. However, the visual effects work delayed the release by a year. We decided to wait because we did not want to compromise on quality. Continuing the twists introduced in the teaser, we have crafted the trailer with several turns and surprises. In the teaser, I appeared as a police officer, while the trailer introduces me as both a police officer and a scientist.

“Even when you think you have understood what is happening, there is a beautiful and deeper story waiting to unfold. We have not revealed even a single shot from that part of the narrative. Every filmmaker claims that their film is different, and I am saying the same thing. But rather than taking my word for it, you can experience it in theatres on October 30.

“The story unfolds across three distinct layers set in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Audiences will experience something fresh when they see Jyoti Poorvaj’s different characters on screen. She worked extremely hard on the makeovers, body language and performances required for each role. The film also follows a police investigation to discover whether she is an alien, a woman with extraordinary powers, or someone entirely different. The interval bang will be a major highlight, creating curiosity about her true identity.

“The twist involving her character in the second half is something audiences will find extremely difficult to predict. We are announcing a prize of Rs. 1 crore for anyone who can correctly guess the second-half twist within five minutes of the interval. Viewers must send their answer to the WhatsApp number we provide. The winner will receive the prize during our film’s success meet.

“I can confidently say that audiences have never experienced a film quite like this. Multiplex audiences who have watched the film have appreciated the novelty of our attempt, while single-screen audiences have also responded positively to the film. ‘Killer’ will make you feel thrilled and excited.

“The footage I shot for the film runs to 2 hours and 15 minutes, while the final film has a runtime of two hours. We are receiving a good business response, with the Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka distribution rights already sold. The film will release in Kannada as well as Tamil, and our overseas distribution deal has also been closed. We have received offers from two OTT platforms.

“‘Killer’ is a science-fiction action thriller, and I believe it will become a film that audiences cherish in their hearts. I would like to thank everyone who worked on this project, including Ayyinabathina Dasaratha Madhav, who acted in the film and also worked as a line producer; line producer Seetharamarao; cinematographer Jagadeesh; our DI team; action choreographer Raj Kumar; and every member of our team.”

Blockbuster Director Harish Shankar, who attended the event as the chief guest, said, “After arriving at the event, I asked Poorvaaj about the film’s budget. Considering the budget he mentioned, making a film of this quality is truly commendable. The quality of the film is evident from the trailer itself.

“Poorvaaj and Jyoti Poorvaj are both fans of Power Star Pawan Kalyan garu, and their admiration for him was one of the reasons I came to this event. Producer A. Padmanabha Reddy also produced Poorvaaj’s first film, and I extend my best wishes to him for this project.

“The film appears to have an interesting storyline involving Neuralink. Elon Musk has been pursuing research related to Neuralink, and the idea of bringing Neuralink together with a Super She character makes the film particularly intriguing.

“Poorvaaj’s first two films were released during the lockdown, and this is his third film as a director. Not every filmmaker achieves recognition with their very first project. Even I had to wait a long time for success. I sincerely hope Poorvaaj receives the recognition and success he has been working towards with this film.

“His hard work is clearly visible on screen. Considering the budget and the number of working days, the team has delivered a film of impressive quality. That quality is evident in the trailer. My best wishes to the entire team of ‘Killer’.”
