Megastar Chiranjeevi’s latest offering, Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu is directed by Anil Ravipudi, who has previously delivered blockbuster Sankranthiki Vasthunnam last year. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Nayanthara, Venkatesh, and Sachin Khedekar, and is produced by Sahu Garapati and Sushmitha Konidela under the Shine Screens and Gold Box Entertainment banners. The film hit the theatres on January 12.
Plot
The story revolves around Shankara Varaprasad (Chiranjeevi), an NSG commando officer, who gets divorced from his wife Sasirekha (Nayanthara) due to differences. The couple has two kids, and the film explores how they reunite. Varaprasad is a close aide to a Central Minister (Sharath Saxena), who assigns him as the bodyguard of Sasirekha’s father, GPR (Sachin Khedekar), when he’s attacked by an unknown person. The film follows Varaprasad’s journey as he eliminates the threat and reunites with his family, with Venkatesh playing a significant role in the narrative.
Performances
Chiranjeevi steals the show with his impeccable performance, showcasing his vintage charm and comedy timing. He’s effortlessly entertaining, carrying the film on his shoulders. He holds the film with his screen presence in normal scenes too. Venkatesh makes a stylish appearance, and his chemistry with Chiranjeevi is electric. Venkatesh presence adds more value and his camaraderie with Chiranjeevi is a treat to watch. Nayanthara is elegant and dignified, pairing well with Chiranjeevi. It is due to Nayanthara her role brings emotional depth. Catherine Tresa as Jwala in Chiranjeevi team gets good screen time and she effectively uses it. She performed well both in comedy and action scenes. The supporting cast, including Sachin Khedekar, Zarina Wahab, and others, delivers commendable performances.

He consistently delivers the fun moments throughout the film which is th main asset of the film.
Anil Ravipudi’s direction is a major highlight, as he extracts the best from Chiranjeevi and crafts an engaging narrative. The cinematography by Sameer Reddy is impressive, making the visuals look rich and vibrant. Bheems’ music is catchy, with chartbusters like “Meesala Pilla” and “Mega Victory”. The production values are top-notch, reflecting the producers’ Sahu and Sushmitha commitment to quality. The visuals looks colorful and grand.
The film’s biggest strength is its ability to evoke nostalgia, with Chiranjeevi’s character and Anil Ravipudi’s direction paying homage to classic Telugu films. The supporting cast adds depth to the narrative, and the film’s pacing is well-balanced. However, the predictability of the plot and the thin story are notable drawbacks.
