Mass Jathara, the latest film of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, has hit the big screens with premieres on October 31. The film marks the debut of Bhanu Bhogavarapu, who earlier impressed as the writer for films like Vivaha Bhojanambu. Sreeleela plays the female lead, and is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya.
Plot
Mass Jathara revolves around an upright and honest Railway Police Officer, Lakshman Bheri (Ravi Teja), and the developments in his life as he overcomes challenges and emerges victorious. The story is set in a fictional place called Adavivaram, where drug lord Shivudu (Naveen Chandra) wreaks havoc with his illegal operations, but Lakshman Bheri soon becomes a major obstacle in his path. Meanwhile he meets Sreeleela and falls for her. How Lakshman and Shuvudu fought with each other forms the rest of the plot.
Performances
Ravi Teja delivers an energetic performance, surprising with his energy. He elevates the scenes with his electrifying energy levels, impressing with his impactful screen presence and energy levels. Sreeleela got a typical female role in a commercial entertainer and did well within her limitations, oozing glamor in the songs and coming up with cute expressions.
Naveen Chandra surprises with his performance in the role of the antagonist, making his presence felt on the screen. His makeover and body language delivered a menacing look and Naveen Chandra aces it with his intense performance. His villainy added depth to this commercial actioner. Naveen Chandra voice and dialogue delivery made his role impactful. Rajendra Prasad did notable character and Naresh is seen in father role. Both of them did well.

Debut director Bhanu Bhogavarapu came up with a story which matches tropes of commercial template and is fine tuned matching RaviTeja. The action blocks drive the proceedings, and the movie revolves around the hero fighting against drug peddling. But the film never makes the audience tired and keeps them engaging with us either entertainment or action.
The film’s technical aspects are decent, with good cinematography and production values. The background score is loud, and the songs are okay. The editing could have been far better, with many scenes slowing the pace of the narration. Contrary, The story lacks additional layers, constantly reminding us of many films that have tackled the same theme recently. Overall, Mass Jathara is a template driven film carried largely by Ravi Teja’s energetic show and good action blocks.
