Walt Disney’s Lion King franchise has captivated audiences worldwide. The latest installment, Mufasa: The Lion King, serves as a prequel and sequel to the previous films. To appeal to the Indian market, top stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu have lent their voices in Hindi and Telugu respectively.
Story:
The film follows an orphan cub’s journey to becoming king, overcoming challenges. A wise mandrill, Rafiki, narrates the exciting events. It explores the lives of Mufasa (Aaron Pierre), Taka (Kelvin Harrison Jr). The film depicts how Mufasa overcomes all obstacles and hurdles to become the king of Pride Lands, Tanzania. Meanwhile what roles Pumbaa (SethRogen ), Timon (Billy Eichner) played in the process
Performances:
Mahesh Babu’s dubbing shines with trademark mannerisms and wit in his dialogue delivery. It is his dubbing which brings a kind of uniqueness to the film in Telugu. Brahmanandam and Ali are good with their hilarious dialogues. Satyadev and Ayyappa P Sharma also gave their voices aptly. The dialogues succeeded in evoking emotions and providing laughs at regular intervals.

Analysis:
Mufasa – The Lion King is a visually stunning film with captivating cinematography and impressive voice acting, particularly Mahesh Babu’s dubbing. However, the slow pace and routine elements detract from the overall experience. It has its moments, especially it entertains with its hilarious dialogues and also gets emotional at times.
Cinematography is captivating with vibrant colors. The luch green jungles and animals looked natural and realistic. VFX is decent and production values are grand. Telugu dubbing is neatly done but the same cannot be said for songs part.

Bottom-line: Mahesh Babu’s dubbing and Lion King nostalgic moments made Mufasa work to a large extent.
