Only 17% of what a moviegoer spends actually reaches the producer – SKN gives clear explanation
There has always been criticism that producers are looting audiences with increased ticket prices and expensive food counters. Responding to this, young producer SKN gave complete clarity with detailed calculations and graphs.
He explained that out of every rupee a viewer spends on watching a film, the producer receives only 17 paise. The remaining amount goes to multiplex chains, government taxes, online ticketing platforms and other overheads. Ultimately, only 17% of the total money spent by the audience reaches the producer.

Giving an example, SKN said that when a family spends ₹2,178 to watch a movie, the producer receives only ₹372.
He clarified that when producers work so hard finding the right director, convincing the hero, borrowing money, and taking the entire financial risk, it’s unfair to accuse them of exploiting the audience when their final income is this low
