Story:

Chaitanya (Chaitanya Rao) is an aspiring film director who wants to direct a film based on Bar Seenu’s (Sunil) life with his friend Harsha (Viva Harsha) playing the lead role in it. Chaitanya keeps getting rejected by the producers for his choice of hero and one day, he decides to produce the film. He also hatches a plan to kidnap one of the wives of a producer, Shetty (Sreekanth Iyengar) who insulted him in the past. Both Chaitanya & Harsha plan the whole kidnap and execute it. But the twist in the tale arises when another gang also tries to kidnap the same person which in turn unfolds a big conspiracy and a lot of confusion. How all these unfold on the big screen forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

Chaitanya Rao is pretty decent in his part and he suits the role of an innocent man who tries to do a crime out of situational demands and finally gets entangled in a conspiracy. Shraddha Das gets a meaty role and she performs well as Parvathi. She looks gorgeous in her glamourous avatar.

Sunil, Viva Harsha & Srikanth Iyengar provide laughs with their funny antics and frustration in the second half. Malavika Satheesan is okay in her role as the love interest of the hero. Surekha Vani, Sameer & Rohini also are funny in a few places and do their parts neatly while Gundu Sudarshan, Eshwar, Muralidhar Goud, Lakshmi Narayana G, Abhishek A Raj, Madhu, B.Suresh & others are fine in their limited roles.

Analysis:

Director Santosh Kambhampati comes up with a potential story which has all elements of crime, comedy and twists. The plot twist in the kidnap, is a fresh idea. He manages to extract desired output that engages the audience and also entertains them in the second half. The interval twist is cleverly handled and raises curiosity about the later half.

But, the first half where a racy screenplay is needed especially for such kind of crime comedy genre films is missing at times. The whole movie angle and the love track in the beginning are the best examples of this. But, the confusing comedy scenes in the second half, made most of the film work and succeeds in entertaining the audiences.

The songs by Ree are decent especially the title rap song. The background score is passable. The cinematography by Bala Saraswathi is fine. The edit by Sasank Vupputuri could have been better. The production values by Vanamali Creations are adequate.

Rating: 3/5

Bottom-line: Entertaining Confusing Kidnap Drama
