Power Star Pawan Kalyan attended as the chief guest for the launch of the book ‘Mana Cinemalu-Anubhavalu-Charitra-Parinamam’ written by popular writer and columnist, Telakapalli Ravi. Speaking at the event, Pawan explained why his directorial film Johnny failed.

Pawan said, “I didn’t do justice to Johnny’s story by going for commercial elements. If I would’ve have stuck to the story, the result would’ve been different. Writers like Paruchuri brothers have the ability to tell the point of the film spot on by even adding commercial elements. That is a rare quality, which not everyone has.”

“Many people of this generation don’t know about great actors like Sv Rangarao and Savitri Garu. We came to know about Savitri’s off-screen life only after watching her biopic. Like how cinema influences real lives, even real lives influence cinema. I am happy that such movies get national awards. I have always tried to deliver a message through my films even though there are a lot of commercial elements in them,” he further added.

Pawan appreciated Thelakapalli Ravi for writing a book on the history of our films and assured that he will support many such attempts to preserve our history by writing them in the form of a book.
