Ahead of the film’s world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on 13th September, the makers of the film ‘The Sky is Pink’ have released the first look poster and trailer of the film today. It is also officially announced that the film is all set to release worldwide on October 11th, 2019.
Directed by ‘Margarita, With a Straw’ fame Shonali Bose, the film is based on the short life of author-motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary who was born with an immune deficiency disorder and was later diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.
Aisha was six months old when she underwent a bone marrow transplant and developed pulmonary fibrosis. She passed away at the age of 18 in 2015. Her book, “My Little Epiphanies”, was published posthumously. The film also sheds light on the love story of her parents.
‘Dhangal’ fame Zaira Wasim plays the role of Aisha Chaudhary. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar, who play Aditi and Niren Chaudhary, the parents of Aisha in the film while Rohit Saraf plays the role of Aisha’s brother Ishaan Chaudhary.
The film is been produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Priyanka Chopra and this film will mark PC’s return to Bollywood after her 2016 release ‘Jai Gangaajal’. Priyanka last appeared in Hollywood film ‘Isn’t It Romantic’, starring Rebel Wilson, Liam Hemsworth, and Adam Devine while Farhan is currently prepping for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Toofan’, in which he will be essaying the role of a boxer.
