Icons Star Allu Arjun, creative director Sukumar’s much awaited Pan India Film, Pushpa-2 The Rule has started its musical promotions. Rock star Devi Sri Prasad has given the music for this ambitious film under the production of Mythri Movie Makers. The song Pushpa Pushpa was released from this film and became a sensational hit. This chart buster number is sung by star singer Deepak Blue. Singer Deepak Blue shared interesting facts related to the Pushpa song in a press conference in the context of Pushpa song continuing to be a top trend.
Tell us about your journey as a singer?
I have been singing for the last 12 years. So far I have sung more than three hundred songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. Now Pushpa’s song has become the biggest hit in my career and I am very happy.
Tell us about your background?
– My father is from Repalli. But settled in Chennai. Mom is from Kannada. I was born and brought up in Chennai. We speak only Telugu at home. As we have people of all languages in the house, we won’t have a problem with any team winning the IPL. (Laughs)
When did you want to be a singer? Tell us about that journey
– I used to love songs since my childhood. My grandmother has a musical background. Also my mother sings well. I think that’s how I got singing. I went to music classes during my studies. I even joined a band after college. I studied Applied Microbiology. I also worked for a few days. Later I participated in some singing reality shows. During those shows I got a clarity on playback singing. Also understand what aspects need to be improved. Later demos were given to music directors. Vijay Antony gave the opportunity for the first song. Later I sang a song in Teja’s movie Neeku Naku Dash Dash. Thus the journey started in Telugu as well.
Which song will be your first hit?
– I sung a song in Devi Sri Prasad’s composition for Nannaku Premato. It was a huge hit. Also, the mega meter song in ‘Bruce Lee’ in Thaman’s composition has also become a big hit. I sang about 35 songs for Thaman. I also sang in Beeruva (Chelia Chelia), Pandaga Chesko (Life is Beautiful) Kick 2, Chutallabbai, Dictator and recently Varasudu. Thaman is like a brother to me. We also play cricket together for fun. We also formed a team with all the musicians in Chennai (laughs).
Have you met Allu Arjun and Sukumar?
-Not yet. Looking forward to meeting them. Usually the singers travel with the music director. I am eagerly waiting to meet Allu Arjun and Sukumar at the audio launch.
How did you get the chance for Pushpa Pushpa ?
-First I sang in Nannaku Prematho for Devi. Later I sang a promo song in Sarileru Neekevvaru. I was approached while they were looking for a powerful voice for Pushpa’s song. I sang this song enjoying a lot. I am eagerly waiting to see it on screen.
Deepak Blue.. your name is a bit special. Can you explain a little about this?
-My full name is Deepak Subrahmanyam Kappagantulu. Initially the title credit was Deepak. But when I searched I found a Bhoj Puri singer with the same name, I noticed that the songs were mixed. I thought it would be better if the name was a bit unique. My favorite color is blue. Blue is also on my social media accounts. My friends also call me Blue. So the name was changed to Deepak Blue.
Who is your inspiration in singers?
– Can’t say one. Many inspire me. My all time favorite is Balu garu. I also like Hariharan’s ghazals. Shankar Mahadevan’s energy is amazing. Also I like the feel of Yesudas garu.
Many of the heroes are singing now, who is your favorite singer?
– Dhanush’s voice tone is good. He sings songs suitable for him. Siddharth’s voice is also good. If heroes are singing, it is competition for us. (Laughs). But there is another positive aspect in the pan India trend. It is possible to sing the same song in all languages. I sang Puspa song in Telugu and Tamil.
You worked with both Devi Sri and Thaman? Did you notice any differences in their working style?
– Both Devi and Thaman are music directors with clarity. Whatever the song needs, they extract it well.
Any thoughts on turning music director in the future?
-Learned things related to music during covid. An independent album is to be made. Also I like to sing melodious songs. But so far only mass songs have come my way. There is an idea to make an independent album with melody songs as well.

– I Sang some big songs. The time of their release is in the hands of the makers.
