Samantha Akkineni has successfully reached the landmark of 1 million dollars at the USA box office and proved her potential yet again with Oh Baby. Now Samantha has moved onto her next project, the official remake of Tamil super hit movie “96” that starred Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. Samantha has taken a big challenge on recreating the Jaanu character in Telugu version of 96 remake.
Trisha has given her career-best performance in the role of Jannu in 96 film and she has created a special place in the hearts of audiences giving new soul to the character. Samantha has started filming for the 96 Telugu version and few key scenes from the movie are filmed in Hyderabad at a hotel. As per sources, Samantha has perfectly replicated the icon dress of yellow kurta, a blue scarf of Jannu role with a cream kurta and similar kind of scarf that is used by Trisha from the Tamil film.
Tamil director Prem Kumar who has directed the Tamil version is directing the Telugu version too and Dil Raju is bankrolling the love story in his SVC banner. As per reliable sources hero, Sharwanand is going to join the filming of 96 remake in Telugu from the second week of August as he is busy with his prior commitments. The same technical team that worked for the Tamil original are working for the Telugu version too to bring back the same magic on the silver screen.
