Plot:

The film starts with the kidnapping of Indian CEO to World’s No 1 Tech company, Aakella (Srinivas Avasarala) in Hyderabad on his visit to India, and the subsequent police operation to rescue him. The story takes a comedic turn when suspended police officer YD Raju (Venkatesh) is brought in to solve the case, accompanied by his wife Bhagyalakshmi (Aishwarya Rajesh), his ex girlfriend Meenakshi (Meenakshi Chaudhary) and their family.  Did Raju succeed in operation ? How did he managed the cat fights between his wife and ex girlfriend forms the story.

Performances:

Venkatesh delivers a standout performance, showcasing his impeccable comedic timing. He made many normal written scenes work with his outstanding performance. Aishwarya Rajesh performs well as the jealous and lovable wife, while Meenakshi Chaudhary fits the bill as the ex girlfriend.

The supporting cast, including Upendra Limaye and Saikumar, also added to comedy even though they sound loud at times. Others like Naresh, VTV Ganesh, Pammi Sai, Srinivas Reddy, Murali Goud and others did their part in narrative.

Repetitive Scenes In Second Half

Analysis:

Anil Ravipudi’s direction is geared towards creating a laugh-out-loud experience, and he largely succeeds in doing so. The film’s comedic tone is well-maintained, and the performances of the cast are excellent. While the plot may be thin, the film’s entertainment value makes up for it.

The first half is quite enjoyable with ample amount of comedy and chartbuster songs. The scene where Bulliraju, YD Raju’s son, who is addicted to OTT uses foul language to abuse those quarreling with his father is hilarious. Venkatesh’s chemistry with his on-screen son is adorable and delivers laughs.

The second half too maintains same tempo. The entire family’s escape from a gangster in the second half is unexpected and fun to watch. But, after a while the film feels repetitive towards the end. The music by Bheems is good, and all three songs come out well on screen. The editing by Tammiraju could have been better, especially during the second half.

On a whole, ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunnam’ is a fun, entertaining film that delivers on its promise of laughs. With excellent performances, good music, and decent production values, this film is a worthwhile watch for fans of comedy entertainers.

Rating: 3.5/5

Bottom-line: Venky – Anil Delivers A Hat-trick !!
