Saptagiri (Saptagiri) is a small-time lawyer who can marry the love of his life only when he makes it big. He gets such a case and has to argue against Rajpal (Sai Kumar), one of the best lawyers in the country. It is regarding a hit and run case. Did Sapthagiri win the battle and make it big is the basic story of the film.

Performances:

Saptagiri has already proved his mettle as a Hero with the debut effort Saptagiri Express. He now adds another dimension to his acting with Saptagiri LLB. He brings an emotional touch with fight full of heroism. It is a well-thought-out change, and with right subjects, he is sure to go places.

Kashish Vohra has a small role compared to others, but she stands out for her simple and girl next door kind of beauty. In the scenes leading to the interval where hero changes due to heroine’s words, she has done well.

Sai Kumar has a blast with his lawyerly act. His mannerism and expressions show us a hitherto unseen actor in him. Whenever he is onscreen, one is glued to the happenings on screens. It is without any doubt one of the memorable roles in his career.

Siva Prasad gets a role of a lifetime. He is the one that is going to stay with the audience along with Saptagiri and Sai Kumar. Simple gestures like the way he cleans the glasses or expresses displeasure over tea being cold are superbly done. It must have been an unforgettable experience for him, and it will be so for whoever watches the movie.

Producer Dr. K Ravi Kirane also plays an important supporting role in the movie. He helps the film gain momentum with his presence and takes the narrative forward. Saptagiri and others are adequate.

Analysis:

Charan Lakkakula has picked up a fascinating subject for Saptagiri LLB. The movie is a remake of Bollywood film Jolly LLB. It has been suitably customized for Telugu audience, keeping the sensible core issue same.

The changes are smart and sensible and don’t affect the flow of the narrative at all. There are the typical songs that one expects in Telugu cinema in the mix as well along with loud over the top which is a must. These things add additional push to the basic story which is engaging from the moment it begins before the interval.

Post-intermission we dive straight into the narrative, and there is a nice flow. The emotional scenes, as well as comedy, are correctly blended. However, what stays with us is the tug of war like scenes between Saptagiri and Sai Kumar. It is a joy watching them dual on the screen with dialogues thrown at each other. It is such an evenly contested affair that it never occurs to us what would the proceedings look like with another hero. The climax would make most of the cold-hearted people’s eyes moist.

Overall, Saptagiri LLB is a well-acclimatized remake according to the tastes of Telugu movie-going public. The producer of the movie deserves a special mention for taking such a film and presenting to us in a way that would reach the maximum audience.

Bulganin has provided superb music. The background score is equally impressive. Sarangam SR’s cinematography is lovely. Senior editor Goutham Raju keeps the pace of the movie lively through editing. The production values are excellent, and so is the writing by Paruchuri Brothers. They hit the nail on the head with their hard-hitting dialogues.

Bottom-line : Engaging & Entertaining Court-Room Drama

Rating: 3.5/5
