Plot
Leelavathi (Lavanya Tripathi) is a female director who overcomes a childhood fear with the help of psychiatrist Ram Sethu (Dev Mohan). During therapy, she falls in love with him. She convinces her elders and marries Ram Sethu, and life seems smooth. Trouble starts when Ram Sethu falls for his nurse Nicola Sebastian (Madonna Sebastian) and asks Leelavathi for a divorce. Shocked and hurt, Leelavathi refuses to let go. She calls Nicola out and locks her husband in the house to stop him from leaving. Lawyer Tamalapakula (VTV Ganesh) enters the scene and things get more chaotic. The story then follows Leelavathi’s fight to save her marriage. Will she divorce Ram Sethu or bring him back to his senses? Can she outwit Nicola and restore her home? The plot revolves around love, betrayal, and a wife’s determination to protect her relationship.
Performances
Lavanya Tripathi carries the entire film with confidence and ease. As Leelavathi, she is expressive, sharp, and convincing. Her comic timing works well. She shifts from vulnerability to anger to determination without missing a beat. You watch the film for her screen presence alone.
Dev Mohan as Ram Sethu is sincere and fits the role of a confused psychiatrist. Though his character does not get much emotional range, he supports the narrative well. His chemistry with Lavanya in the early portions is pleasant. Madonna Stebastian as Nicola plays the other woman with restraint and does justice to her part. VTV Ganesh as lawyer Tamalapakula brings his trademark humor and lightens several scenes. Naresh impresses in his limited screen time and adds seniority to the cast. Overall, the ensemble works, but Lavanya remains the standout and the soul of the film.

The first half of Sathi Leelavathi sets up the characters quickly and keeps the mood light. Leelavathi’s childhood fear, her therapy with Ram Sethu, and their eventual marriage are shown in a breezy way. The humor lands in parts and Lavanya’s energy keeps the film moving. The interval point creates a decent hook when Ram Sethu asks for divorce. The second half shifts to Leelavathi’s attempts to win back her husband. The house-arrest comedy and lawyer entry add some laughs. The father-figure emotion and marital conflict get more focus here. While the pace dips in places and a few scenes feel repetitive, the intent to blend humor with sentiment comes through. The climax ties things up on a hopeful note, even if it feels a bit convenient.
On the technical side, Tatineni Satya draws from the original Sathi Leelavathi but updates it for today’s audience. The cinematography is okay and captures the domestic setup neatly. The background score is good and lifts the emotional moments, though the songs do not leave a strong impact. Production values are adequate for a family rom-com. The editing could have been tighter, as some stretches test patience and the narrative wanders before the climax. Still, the film’s clean tone, absence of vulgarity, and focus on relationships make it a safe family watch. The sentimental scenes work in parts and Lavanya’s performance ensures the film stays engaging.
