Shekhar Kammula is currently directing an untitled film with Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. A glimpse of this film got released a few days back, on the occasion of Chay’s birthday. Going by the teaser, Chay looks like a guy next door who has no so-called heroic traits of Telugu cinema.
Speaking about Chay’s role in the film, Shekhar said that the Dhada actor is playing the role of a young man from the rural part of Telangana who comes to Hyderabad to pursue his dreams. Shekhar stated that there were only a few films which portrayed the hero as a rural Telanagana guy in Telugu films and this one will be one of them. The director also added that every youngster from the region will resonate with Chay’s character.
Apparently, the actor has done a lot of hard work to get the dialect of Telangana right. Shekhar has done a lot of workshops to make sure Chay is getting the diction correct. Even Sai Pallavi plays the role of a village girl who comes to Hyderabad with a bunch of dreams. This romantic drama will hit the screens early next year.
