Plot:
The story revolves around the bonding between two brothers, Chiru (Sampoornesh Babu) and Pawan (Santosh), and how their lives take a drastic turn with the entry of two beautiful girls, Divi (Prachi Bansal) and Bhuvana (Aarti Gupta). The film explores their relationships, love, and affection, and how they overcome obstacles.
Performances:
Sampoornesh Babu attracts with his antics, delivers dialogues with impact in sentimental and emotional scenes. Sanjosh performed well, got equal and sometimes more screen presence than Sampoornesh Babu.
Arati Gupta looked good on screen, and delivered fine performance. Prachi Bansal: Looked homely, and emoted well in key scenes. Veteran actor Babu Mohan did well in the role of the father, and made his presence felt.
Positives:
Sampoornesh Babu’s performance
Sanjosh’s performance
Few emotions
Good cinematography
Drawbacks:
Predictable plot
Weak screenplay
Analysis:
Sodara highlights the bonding between brothers. Sampoornesh Babu and Sanjosh performed well, but with some reworking on the script and racy screenplay, the film could have been better. Sodara is a decent film with strong emotions even though with its predictable plot. While Sampoornesh Babu and Sanjosh’s performances are noteworthy, the film’s technical aspects are commendable.
The director Manmohan Menampalley chose a good point, and delivered decent output with screenplay and direction. Sunil Kashap’s songs are okay, but the background score is good. Cinematography by Jaan showed the village atmosphere in a natural and realistic manner. Editing by Shiva Sarvani’s editing left a lot to be desired. Producer Chandra Chaganla made sure to provide resources for a decent output.
Rating: 2.75/5
Bottom-line: Sodara Is A Decent Emotion Drama
