Sri Devi’s ‘MOM’ Creating New Records In China

Athiloka Sundari Sri Devi is still creating her magic at the box office and not backing off from generating new records on her name in the history books of cinema. Sri Devi’s landmark 300th film “Mom” was released in China in a recording breaking 38,500 screens yesterday, which is huge for a Bollywood women-centric feature film. The biggest surprising part is the first-day collection for “Mom” movie at China box office, Sri Devi’s crime thriller film has collected a whopping 9.6 Million Yuan i.e 9.8 crores in Indian currency.

If the preview screening of Mom is also taken into consideration then Sri Devi’s movie collected a recording breaking 11.47 Crores. Now with this remarkable numbers at the box office, Mom has suppressed “Andhadhun” collections for its opening day in China. And Mom movie is the third highest grosser in China this year in terms of India movies releasing in the country. Mom was made with a budget of 370 million and before its release in China, the film has collected 770 million from its releases in different countries during 2017. Similar to Bollywood superstar Khan’s movies, Mom was released in 40 countries throughout the world.

Zee Studios International and Namah Pictures production house are the driving forces behind releasing Mom in China on a very large scale. For Indian films, despite being it a north industry or south industry flick, movie enthusiasts in China are welcoming with open arms and it has opened a new market which is growing at a rapid speed.
