Tamil star Suriya is currently on a roll with a handful of movies under his belt. After hitting the screens with a political entertainer ‘NGK’ directed by Selvaraghavan, this star hero has recently wrapped up KV Anand’s action thriller ‘Kaappaan’ (‘Bandobast’ in Telugu) in which he plays an NSG commando, alongside Mohanlal, Arya, and Sayesha.
Currently, he has also started shooting for his upcoming film with director Sudha Kongara, who is known for her film ‘Irudhi Suttru’ (‘Saala Khadoos’ in Hindi and ‘Guru’ in Telugu). The film is titled as “Soorarai Pottru”, which is a line from Tamil poet Bharathiyar’s poem. The title means: Praise the talented.
The film is a biopic based on the life of Indian entrepreneur GR.Gopinath – a retired Indian army captain and founder of Air Deccan. Suriya who is particularly known for doing different roles with various looks has once again transformed himself into a new look for this film. Recently a photo of him was out where he is seen in short hair as a military officer for this film.
Aparna Balamurali and Mohan Babu are playing important roles while actors Arjunan, Kaali Venkat and Vivek Prasanna are part of the supporting cast. The film is jointly produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Oscar Award winner Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment while GV Prakash is composing the music of the film which is aiming for a Christmas release this year.
