Sri Klin Kaara Celluloids’ Production No.1, Aasmaan, starring Meghamsh Srihari and directed by Ram Nandhan, unveiled its official teaser at a special event celebrating Meghamsh’s birthday. Produced by Kondaru Venkatesh and Srikanth Mannem, the film is an edge-of-the-seat mystery thriller.
The event was attended by special guests Manchu Manoj and Shivatmika Rajashekhar, along with the film’s cast and crew. Speaking on the occasion, Manoj praised Meghamsh, saying, “Meghamsh Srihari is the reflection of Real Star Srihari garu, and I can proudly and confidently say he is going to give a successful movie.”

Following the speeches, the Aasmaan team interacted with members of the media, discussing the film’s mystery-thriller genre, Meghamsh Srihari’s character, the decision to dub the film in Arabic, the visual and musical world created for the film, his connection with his father Srihari, the long gap after Rajdooth, and the film’s Pan-India ambitions.
Q: Why is Aasmaan being released in Arabic as well?
Meghamsh: Our team already has a strong market in the Middle East. The Arabic film Samboosa Chapathi became a big hit there, giving us the confidence to release Aasmaan in Arabic too.
Q: What is the genre of Aasmaan?
Meghamsh: It is a mystery thriller. I play a recovery agent, and the film moves at a very fast pace with a fresh concept for Telugu cinema.
Q: The music and visuals seem to have a horror touch. Is there any horror element?
Meghamsh: No. There is no horror. It is a pure mystery thriller.
Q: What is the connection behind the Arabic version?
Director Ramanandan: I previously made a film with Bahraini artist Ahmed, which released across 10–12 Middle Eastern countries and collected around ₹35 crore. After its success, I was invited to make another film there. That experience encouraged us to make Aasmaan in Arabic as well.
Q: How much mystery can audiences expect?
Meghamsh: The mystery starts right from the beginning. Even if I reveal the story up to the interval, audiences still won’t be able to predict what happens next.
Q: As Srihari garu’s son, do you feel pressure to maintain his legacy?
Meghamsh: 100%. That is one reason I took a long gap before doing another film. I want to protect my father’s name and choose films carefully.
Q: Do you want to follow Srihari garu’s action-film path?
Meghamsh: I want to do all kinds of films. I enjoy experimenting and have no restrictions based on genre.
Q: Does Aasmaan have Pan-India potential?
Director Ramanandan: Absolutely. Content is what matters today. If the content connects with audiences, language is not a barrier. That is the strength of Pan-India cinema.
Q: How did Aasmaan satisfy you as an actor?
Meghamsh: The role offers a lot of scope for performance. It was enjoyable but also demanding, and the hard work made the experience feel completely worth it.
Q: When will your elder brother enter direction?
Meghamsh: He will come soon. He is currently writing.
Q: What kind of musical world have you created for Aasmaan?
Prasanth Vihari: The motion poster and teaser were scored separately, but the film will maintain the same sound and musical topography throughout to build its world.
Q: What attracted you to the film?
Meghamsh: The director’s vision and the way he narrated the story attracted me immediately. Once the cinematographer came on board, I felt the film would look exactly as it had been narrated to me.
Q: What did you learn from Srihari garu?
Meghamsh: Discipline. Whatever time they call me, I should be there; however long they need me to work, I should work. As an artist, I learned almost everything from him.
Q: Which aspect of Srihari garu’s acting do you admire most?
Meghamsh: He acted a lot through his eyes. I also always wished I had his voice.
Q: Would you like to do lighter films or love stories?
Meghamsh: Definitely. I want to do a good love story after completing my next project.
Q: Are you open to all genres?
Meghamsh: Yes. If I like the story, I will do it. Genre doesn’t matter to me.
Q: What did you learn during the gap after Rajdooth?
Meghamsh: I learned how to say no. I listened to many scripts and realised that I should only do films I genuinely believe are good.
Q: What attracted the producer to Aasmaan?
Producer: Aasmaan presents a different world. The director’s narration transported me into that world, and the thrilling elements and fast pace made me want to bring the story to audiences.
Q: Does Aasmaan have any connection with the Burari deaths case?
Meghamsh: No. I have heard about the case, but there is absolutely no connection.
Q: If you could remake one of Srihari garu’s films, which would it be?
Meghamsh: Bhadrachalam.
Q: What is your best memory of Srihari garu and his biggest acting lesson?
Meghamsh: He spent two or three hours with us every day, and every moment with him is a good memory. While shooting Bhairava, he told me to forget that there was a camera. I still follow that advice.
Q: What did you learn from watching your father’s hard work?
Meghamsh: I started gymming with him, and he used to train me. After he passed away, I realised that I had to work hard on my own and take responsibility for my journey.
Q: What made you choose Aasmaan?
Rayansha: I liked both the story and my character. I have admired Srihari garu since childhood, so getting the opportunity to work with his son also made it special.
Q: Why did the director choose Meghamsh?
Ramanandan: We met almost four years ago. I had the intention of working with him since then, and that eventually led to casting him in this film.
Q: Why did Meghamsh take seven years after Rajdooth?
Meghamsh: I originally planned to launch at 25, but circumstances changed after my father’s passing. After Rajdooth, I felt I looked too young and decided to take time, mature and choose better films. The biggest lesson was learning to patiently say no.
Q: What did you like most about Meghamsh’s performance?
Ramanandan: He has a striking screen presence and delivered a next-level action performance.
Q: Will you continue doing action films?
Meghamsh: I want to do love stories, comedies, horror and every other genre. I have no restrictions. If the story and content are good, I will do it.
Q: What was the biggest challenge while making the film?
Shoaib: Bringing the director’s vision and the film’s world to life in a different way was the biggest challenge. We used a special lens that had not been used in this way before, and the production house supported the vision completely.
